UPDATED: MAR 10, 2013 A nice, albeit malty pale ale. Palate is oily. Light amber pour with a light head.

Originally rated on 12/9/08. DPA pours a nice looking slightly cloudy amberish body with small floaters aplenty, a huge off white cap left decent lace. Slight, but nice hop aroma, the taste was of sweet malts, a little pine with a dry mildly bitter finish, however there was a strange taste of plastic in the initial sips that was a turn off. The batch i drank was 8 months old, maybe it was a little past its prime, but it should hold up better than that. Anyway i will give it another try in the future.

From a variety 12-pack old. I like English Pale Ales and this is an OK one. Some biscuit malt, but not as much as I’d like. The hops aren’t American but maybe not EKGs either. Although it isn’t great, I kind of regret that they’re re-designing at as ...one....more...American Pale Ale.

Enjoyed on tap in sampler form at Great Divide barrel room in Denver, CO. Appearance is light clean gold with a robust white head. Aroma is mostly yeast with a bit of faint light malt. Taste is pretty good. Fresh and clean. Definitely sessionable, but not after drinking a bunch of other beers. Would probably have again.

On tap at Great Divide. Bright orange copper, fruity pine hop bouquet. Dry finish on a balanced body. It’s got an ascerbic bitterness with pine and passionfruit/citrus peel notes. Nice.

Cloudy golden orange, ample tan head, quite frothy. Head really prevents a lot of the nose from coming through. Some pine, maybe some hay. Light bitterness, some amount of sweetness. Lightish body, some oiliness. Fine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

An earthy pine aroma. Deep burned copper body topped with a healthy off-white head about two fingers thick. The head clings to the glass like it should. A firm bitterness but is balanced with nutty malt character to smooth it out. I sense hints of caramel sweetness in the background.

This is a solid pale ale, not really sure how English it is though. IT’s got a nice orange color and a small, foamy head. Its nose is mildy hopp and floral, pleasant but nothing that stands out in a crowd. Some slight toasty malt sweetness helps bring out some citrus character. This is maybe more malty than most pale ales made in the US but it is a nice, drinkable beer regardless.
