3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 ounce bottle - 6.99 Total Wine in Orlando, Florida. Appearance: Pours out a cloudy, straw-colored body with a large, lusciously foamy, white head. Smell: Aromatic nose of apricot with characteristic Begian yeast notes. The usual suspects are all here to a lesser degree: banana, coriander and bitter orange peel. Taste: overwhelmingly malty. (Duh, itís a double, Einstein.) Secondary tastes are tanginess at first blending into a white pepper and corriander with other spices like cinnamon, clove and alspice. Spicy pleasant aftertaste. This is not a beer to drink quickly. Doing so spoils the amazingly long and luscious finish. Mouthfeel: Medium. Average carbonation.Creamy mouthfeel. Drinkability: Very good, however it must be drunk slow to enjoy. Pounding this beer down quickly short-circuits all the best parts of the experience: its complexity and finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rated on 02-21-2010 (Bottled on June 03, 2009) This beer pours a large frothy white head with a short retention, transparent (1st pour) and hazy (2nd pour) yellow body, fizzy, lively, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The Aroma is yeast, wheat, hops, sweet, coriander, and spice. The Taste is sweet, spice, lightly bitter hops, coriander, and wheat. The Palate is tingly and this beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, this beer is easy to drink but lacks any WOW character. It is not a bad beer, but the flavor left me not wanting to try this beer again.

A pretty solid strong wit. Heavy body with a serious amount of spice. Smooth mouthfeel.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
3/15/2011: Great Divide Double Wit... Aroma: This beer presents as a huge wall of coriander spice with some citrusy and floral notes. Appearance: Cloudy yellow color, slightly toward the darker side; large, lasting head of ivory-colored foam. Flavor: Big time caramelized wheat thatís quickly over-run by tons of floral perfume; somewhere underneath some zesty citrus, lemongrass, banana, and honey can be found from time to time, but the coriander and spicy floral flavors seem to dominate. Palate: Thick, heavy, chewy, a bit syrupy; just isnít right for a Wit (supposed to be light, delicate, and refreshing). Overall: This beer is like trying to drink a bowl of Cream of Wheat with the added Wit characateristics (orange, coriander, etc.); it just doesnít go down well... Wit is exactly one of my favorite styles and this one being an "Imperial Wit" was just way too over the top... I mean, if there is one style that really shouldnít or doesnít need to be imperialized, I think that Wit is definitely in the running!
Sample from 22 fl. oz. bottle at Nikkiís birthday dinner. Thanks Nikki! Rating #157 for this beer.

October 2010. Tap at the brewery. Straw yellow with a white head. Grassy aromas with fruity notes, yeast and spice. The alcohol shows through, but not bad at all.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours cloudy gold orange color. Aroma is spicy belgian yeast, candi sugar, and bread. Taste is sweet, pinneapple and lemon flavors, bready, this tastes and lot like a belgian triple....not a wit. Wasnt what i was expecting...but its still good. Not sure this is a good representation of a double wit, but its still a great beer to drink

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from 22oz bomber into Weizen glass. Bottled on date of Jun 9 2010 so probably past its prime.
Aroma: Subtle aroma of floral and herbs. Strong smell of citrus. Most likely oranges and lemons. Slight overtones of alcohol.
Appearance: Pillow of 1 finger white head that faded quickly. Slight lacing on sides of glass. Golden and clear.
Taste: Lots of sweet and slightly sour. Bitter on tongue but fades quickly.
Palate: Light body and thin texture. Lively carbonation and clean finish. Good but seems like its missing something.
Overall: 8.1% alcohol is hidden very well. This beer reminds me of a snakebite (harp and strongbow cider mixed)

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Refrigerated bottle dated June 9, 2010 poured into a weizen glass. Pours light orange with medium white head that dissapates fairly quickly. Some lacing, medium body, and good carbonation. Taste is acidic tart wheat, some alcohol, some spicy citrus, and a hint of coriander. Would be better if the alcohol where better covered.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   Vibrant straw, hazy, moderate white sudsy head, finely bubbled, fairly decent lacing.   Spicy
nose, more floral than wit, combination farmhouse funk with some corriander and orange zest.   A little mealy, but
less than I expected.   Some fire, but not overbearing.   Probably one of the better Imperial Wits I have had,
outside of DeProefís example.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Could stand to finish more Wit
like, but as its its fairly floral and even a bit funky.   Enjoyed it more than I expected simply because it
wasnít overly mealy or cereal like.   Big, fairly meaty, floral, a little funky, less Wit like than I would have
liked, but also less mealy than I expected.   Not half bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle, notes from 9/16/2011. Bottled 6/03/2009. Clear yellow color, big foamy 2+ finger white head. Good, sheety lacing. Doesnít taste too bad for being two years old (I only bought it a couple weeks ago, didnít check the date). Iím not sure if this is the type of beer you should age or not. Kinda refreshing - like any wit should be. Kind of a milky texture. Alcohol not noticable, adds a nice richness to the aroma. Crisp carbonation despite the odd texture. Mildly sweet taste. Really not sure if this has gone bad or not but itís kind of nice. 2nd pour has a 3-finger head, like 2/3 the glass (is that normal? I donít know, but I dig it)
