COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Think of it as a hefeweizen’s older brother. A hearty mix of wheat and dark German barley malts gives it a medium body and muddy brown hue, while our proprietary yeast strain provides the signature notes of banana and clove. If you like wheat beers, come to the Dunkel side. You won’t be disappointed. Just don’t put any lemon in it. 6.4% ABV.

Rated on 9-27-2009 and bottled on April 17, 2009. This beer pours a medium sized very fizzy ivory head that mostly diminished, hazy amber body, one ring of lacing, fizzy, and fast rising carbonation. The Aroma is malty, caramel, wheat, yeast, banana, and some clove. The Taste is sweet, malty, caramel, wheat, banana, and clove. The Palate is thin and this beer is light-medium bodied. In conclusion, this beer is quaffable and is refreshing in its own way. This is a beer I would consider drinking again.

A solid dunkel weiss. Lots of rich caramelly, bready flavor. The banana is pretty prominent, unfortunately the mouthfeel wasn’t as smooth as I’d like.

tengo que decir que no me ha emocionado mucho esta birria. tenía expectativas mayores siendo osucra y trigueña. pero a veces las apariencias engañan. muy maltosa creo que es la regada

FROTHINGSLOSH (4895) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky brown color with some chunks and a large creamy orange-tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sourdough bread, caramel and was a touch meaty. The flavor was dryish, dusty, earthy and bready with an off sour caramel presence. The finish was long, dusty, earthy and bready. Medium body. Disappointing.

Bottle and on tap; multiple tastings. Dark brown colored beer with a tan head on it. Plenty of dark malts and heavy wheat nose as typical for dunkels. Some hops are noted, and plenty of malts in the taste. No alcohol kick. Pretty easy to drink. I liked it well enough.

Bottle:   Heavy brownish amber, murky and cloudy, moderate light beige head, big to start, falls somewhat quickly, spotty lacing.   Heavy bockish nose, some wheat, but almost seems more of a Bock like beer.   Musty, a little barnish.   Heavy wheat on the tongue, but very biscuity and has a sweetness and maltiness that you might find in a Bock.   Very bready too.   Not as Weisse as I hoped.   Certainly thick tho, wheaty, but also moreso in a malty sense.   Its a little dirty too, as in muddy.   Slight earth aspect on the finish.   All throughout it has this burned biscuit aspect.   Perhaps a little astringent too.   Not my kind of Dunkel Weisse.

Taster at the brewery in Denver. Typical pale ale appearance, little to no foam. Aroma of sweet honey malt, some funky notes. Crisp, sweet, semi-bitter notes. Pretty decent easy drinker.

Cybercat (3267) - Georgia, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Pours a warm and inviting clear brown tinged with golden red, almost mahogany, with a fairly decent light tan head. Aroma is strong, yeasty and wheaty with a hint of citrus. Pleasing flavor is mainly wheaty with hints of fruit - mainly pear and apple plus a subtle note of orange - and wood. There is also just a whisper of cloves. Texture has average body but plenty of fizz, leaving a persistent tingle and a fruity, wheaty finish.

Cloudy dark amber/cider color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of wheat, some yeast, caramel, & clove; Flavor of wheat, yeast, bananas, caramel, clove, and some chocolate; Nicely balanced; Overall, surprised by this one - pretty good and somewhat underrated.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy dark copper color with a thin, creamy, beige head. Lots of particles floating about. The aroma is apples, cinnamon, oranges, plums, and licorice. The flavor is bready malts and some fructose sweetness, with a mild hop bitterness in the middle and finish. The palate is light to medium, effervescent and creamy, with a smooth, clean finish. Overall, this is a delicious and understated beer.
