Commercial Description:
Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is a new addition to the Yeti clan. A generous infusion of Denver’s own Pablo’s espresso adds yet another layer of complexity to this beer, combining with the vanilla oak character, intense roasty maltiness and bold hop profile to create a whole new breed of mythical creature. It’s official, you can now have Yeti with breakfast.

Suggested food pairings: Breakfast burrito, eggs Benedict, hash browns, cheesecake, creme brulee.

Big thanks to daknole. Coffee and vanilla balance in the aroma, with a healthy dose of dust-before-the-rain in the background. Brown-black pour, dark tan head, good retention. Flavor blends a dark, earthy coffee with a vanilla sweetness from the oak, any roasted stouty components are thoroughly in the background. It’s neither the best coffee beer nor the best barrel beer I’ve had, but it does blend those additives in a very nice harmony. Full bodied, smooth drinking, drowns the abv in a lot of flavor. Very nice beer.

Bottle shared courtesy of awiseman on my birthday. Aroma is tons of coffee. Appearance is deep brown with a dark tan head. Tastes of bitter chocolate and roasted coffee beans, especially in the finish. A very good stout.

22oz bomber from bruisin’ ales. pours a thick, syrupy, black with a massive, dark tan head and great lacing. aroma is...shit, did i get another bad bottle of great beer?...maybe a bit of dark chocolate, a hint of toffee, and then comes the oxidized cider, odd earthy hops, and overly ripe, dark fruit notes of prune, fig, and red grape but where is the coffee/espresso? where is the oak? where is the vanilla? damnit. flavor is a bit better with more of a pronounced dark chocolate and oak presence but the odd fruit notes of strawberry, prune, dried fig, more apple cider, and raisin combined with the oxidized soy sauce notes completely overshadow the minimal shreds of roasted malts, espresso, and charred wood that make only a fleeting appearance on the finish. damnit. palate is full bodied and mildly carbonated but oddly bitter and sweet given the fruit presence. maybe i let this one sit too long and it oxidized (8 months, give or take) or maybe i was snakebit again with a bad bottle. i’ll certainly give it another try. damnit.

Draught. Black with thick beighe head. Aroma of oak, roast malt, coffee and chocolate. Full malty flavour with chocolate and coffee notes. Lasting lingering malt finish. Makes a good dessert by itself

22oz bottle. Pours a deep black with a thick and rich burnt tan head that leaves some sticky lacing. Roasty...slightly chard malt, coffee, molasses, licorice, oak, vanilla. Nice balance on the nose. Body is lighter than I was anticipating. Sweet and smooth up front with sweet dark fruity notes. Moves right into balanced coffee flavor and then some bitterness on the end. Also pick up vanilla oak notes throughout. Super smooth and drinkable with the abv well subdude. Nice stuff.

Bottle 08 from W&CP. Pours pitch black with foamy tan head. Strong aroma of coffee over dark malts and chocolate. Flavor is relatively smooth and complex, strong black coffee, very slight undertone of dark red fruits, also slightly sour/acidic in the finish. I imagine this will only get better with age, too bad I don’t have another.
