Flavors of espresso, chocolate and roasted malts. I really like what the espresso adds to this beer. Full body with soft carbonation. My favorite of the oaked Yeti beers. juiceisloose (702), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 31, 2010 Bomber bottled 2/13/09 and aged about 10 months. Pours a pitch black color with a hint of mahogany at the edges. A thick and foamy tan colored head crowns the top and shows great rentention with sheets of lacing coating the glass. The aroma is big and shows notes of dark chocolate, espresso, toasted oak, and vanilla. Some roast, burnt caramel and cream blend nicely on the back end. The espresso seems to have been covered up some from all the chocolate and malts from being aged. The flavor follows with big dark chocolate, roasted malts, burnt caramel up front. The espresso comes through a little more along with the vanilla from the oak. Full bodied and smooth with balanced carbonation that leads to a lengthy bitter chocolate finish. The alcohol is hidden nicely as well. I definitely want to try one fresh next time, but as it stands it is still a great beer. Dough77 (784), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Jan 31, 2010 Full bodied dark brown pour with medium sized frothy head. Nose is surprisingly dull at least compared to expectations. Flavor, while nice and filled with espresso, malts, chocolate goodness, it’s definitly missing something. Overall, glad to have the opportunity, I think I’ll stick to the au nataral or ba versions. gpekar (241), Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 31, 2010 Poured black with a tall creamy brown head, like a chocolate float. The aroma was like a chocolate milkshake with coffee and a hint of alcohol. Initially the taste was like a chocolate milkshake followed by a mellow coffee flavor. The coffee flavor became more of an espresso bite towards the finish, but it mellowed out making this a very smooth drinking beer. There was a light amount of warmth on the palate. The alcohol was hidden very well in both the aroma and taste. The head left nice lacing throughout the glass. Atlove (39), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 20, 2010 Great Divide Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout pours obsidian with a camel brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla...nice mouthfeel with tastes of roasted malt and raisin. I don’t get much advance of espresso even compared to the ’plain’ oak-aged Yeti. Nice beer, though. larryLSB (184), La Selva Beach, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 18, 2010 Poured from 22oz., thanks to nickd717. Darker brown with medium tan head. Nose of dark espresso with a little milk, oak, and some chocolate thrown in. Taste was right there also, reminded me of a boozy chocolate milk mixed with coffee - iced mocha maybe. Overall very tasty, a good breakfast beer. sigma23 (312), , Maine, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 10, 2010 22oz bottle thanks to nickd717. Black with a tan head. Oak, coffee, cocoanut, and hoppy aroma. Complex, but just a touch too much spicy oak chip character. The flavor is smoother than the aroma, with some vanilla and spice from the oak, and a bitter, roasty finish. Medium on the malty sweetness with a nice coffee balance that is really the highlight, but the oak provides a weird counterpoint that still holds it back a little. I like this much better than oak aged yeti, but the oak is really the problem. The coffee is actually quite nice in this, but great divide just sucks at any subtlety when oak-aging beers, and the oak holds back what could be a great coffee stout.
