4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wow, intensity from the first sip. The beer resembles used motor oil. Booze, oak, chocolate, and coffee dominate the aroma as well as the flavor. Everything is so well balanced I have a hard time deciding which of those 4 flavors dominate. The booze lingers a bit, but it’s not unpleasant.
Once everything calms down after the first couple drinks destroy your palate, the chocolate flavor goes from milk chocolate to baker’s cocoa, which makes the finish dry and oaky. As it warms, vanilla starts to pop out.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 ounce bottle. Poured into a 16 ounce snifter. Black liquid topped by a small creamy tan head. Aroma is complex roasted malt with notes of fudge brownies, espresso and malted milk. Upfront, flavor is big, bold espresso-like roasted malt and bittersweet chocolate. There is a hint of dark dried cherries here, along with charred oak and smoked brisket burnt ends. Finishes with a rich chewy burnt malt and bitter hop character. Big, Black and Beautiful!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from 22 oz bottle. Dark brown almost black with a brown head. Dark chocolate, coffee, and woody oak aroma. Big oak flavor up front. Bitter dark chocolate, vanilla, espresso, and roasted malt flavors. Smooth oily mouthfeel. This is a fantastic beer..

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Fresh bottle. Pours black with sizeable tan head. Aroma is espresso, and lots of it. Some dark chocolate, almond....great aroma here. Taste is light and sweet espresso with some heavier chocolate and toffee notes. The alcohol is well hidden. More of a medium-bodied stout than I would have expected. Espresso is a clever addition here. Easy drinker and looking forward to more!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours like aerated motor oil. That’s a thing, right? Aroma of coffee, chocolate and oak. Taste is more of the same and then some.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours nearly black with a voluminous, foamy cappuccino-colored head that hangs in there a while. Thick, sticky lacing. Nose is a little yeasty at first, but then clears up and is dominated by bold espresso with faint chocolaty notes. The oak comes through nicely, as do notes of vanilla and roasted malt. Taste is dark, sweet, and delicious. Full body, soft carbonation, espresso finish. Excellent brew!

Pours a thick black sludge with a tan head. Definitely has an espresso dominance with typical toasty stout notes. Very thick and has brown lacing down the glass.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dense, darkest brown, vicious looking tan head with rich lacing. Big brulee sweetness drowned in steamy coffee. Initial taste is devoured by a vibrant Yeti richness, trotting cold liquorice bitterness. Takes a while to settle in.
Taste wise the coffee is at the back, decent wholebean vibe. Topsy turvy bitterness and surprisingly rich hop spike towards the finish aided by hoops of rich carbonation for them to jump through. Linger is clambering tobacco, but rickety hops and watery roast - perhaps the first few steps are too jarring for me!
