COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is a new addition to the Yeti clan. A generous infusion of Denver’s own Pablo’s espresso adds yet another layer of complexity to this beer, combining with the vanilla oak character, intense roasty maltiness and bold hop profile to create a whole new breed of mythical creature. It’s official, you can now have Yeti with breakfast.

Suggested food pairings: Breakfast burrito, eggs Benedict, hash browns, cheesecake, creme brulee.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2009 From tap at Ørsted Ølbar and Ølbaren. Pours pitch black with a slowly collapsing tan head. Dense coffee herbal and roasted malt with a distinct wooden and somewhat hoppy note. Sweet chocolate and nice coffee flavoured, distinct liqourice note too. Lasting roasted coffe and mild acidic flavoured with a distinct hoppy side. Smooth coffee and hoppy finish. The oak really mellows this one out. Nice one.

Draft. Dark brown, tan head, can’t see through. Bitter cocoa aroma. Tuck and creamy with more bitter coffee and chocolate in the mouth. Very rich and good for this style.

Bottle 66 cl @ Karhisma Birroteca (Piedimonte Matese, Caserta - Italy). Best before 02/15/12, so I think has at least 1 year aging. Well, I had a freshier one many times ago and my impressions are that aging increase its balance. Yetis normal version is totally hopped, dry and herbaceous, while young Espresso Oak Aged suffers from coffee influence. This one, on the contrary, puts in the middle: aroma is completely rich. You’ll find citrus, orange, blood orange, coffee beans, chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, burned sugar, ashes, licorice, roots, pineapple. Body is heavy BLACK with a solid cappuccino foam, and gives you a viscous taste full of roasted and burned malt with the classic Yeti sharpness and fizzness; add some dark fruits, cocoa, vanilla. Moreover, finish introduce a good complexity. The dryness of whiskey, resinous as pine, moka and licorice notes again, dark chocolate and lasts long. In the end, finish the entire 66 bottle is so hard, but just for the body strength; alcohol doesn’t stun you and it’s very well hidden. So, we are in front of a great example of coffee IRS.

Served from a cask at the brick store. Looks fantastic and tastes it too. Robust aromas of coffee and chocolate. Thick creamy mouthfeel. Is it the best yeti? I think so.

What can be said poured darker than night. As said in most ratings lacing is very pronounced almost like a spider web of creamy milk like head, smell of chocolate and espresso assault your senses, dense chocolaty malt with bitter espresso hop finish very nice

On tap at unos in bensalem. Deep black pour with a mocha, carbonated head. Amazing lacing. very apparent espresso aroma, roasted malt. Smooth, thick malt, coffee, absurdly creamy. Bitter hop character at the end. Great.

650ml bottle. It pours a deep, dark blackish brown with a huge frothy, foamy tan head. It leaves some great lacing. Amazing appearance. The smell is pretty slick. Chocolate, espesso, oak, vanilla, some fruitiness. There is a mild alcoholic astringency and a big of caramel/sugar. Pretty quintessential for a coffee/ba beer. The flavor is huuge. Initially there is a big hit of espresso. I am wondering if this is gonna five me a kick of caffeine. There is a sharp bit of caramel/vanilla going through this one which makes it smoother than anticipated.
