4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Beerlando (3324) - Orlando, USA - FEB 27, 2009
Bomber. Bottled 2/13/09 and consumed 2/27/09....drank as fresh as possible like any coffee beer should be. Pours virtually black with just the faintest possible glint of mahogany. A thick and foamy mocha colored head shows great retention, and also leaves sticky, ultra-thin, splotchy sheets of lacing all over the glass. Few imperial stouts look as pretty as this. The nose is quite huge, an avalanche of fresh brewed espresso showing alongside bold grassy and earthy hop notes, big dark cocoa, heaps of toasted oak and vanilla. Barley roast and burnt caramel play supporting roles. Hints of mocha and lactose lend a distinct creaminess the goes well with the coffee. Flavors are equally aggressive, yet sufficiently balanced. The espresso note can only be described as huge, and the bitter chocolate and darkly roasted caramel and grains go right along with it. Soft cream takes the edge off, balancing things out nicely. Vanilla from the oak is prominent, but not quite as much as in the regular oak aged Yeti. The mouthfeel is substantial but not full, smooth but not really viscous. If it lacks in any one area, palate would be it. Overall, this is a great beer, just like the other versions of Yeti. I think I like the regular oak aged the best, but this one falls right behind.

Taste is sweet and bitter with burnt wood, roasted malts, bitter chocolate, burnt caramel, dark roast quality coffee, smoke, sweet dark bread, dark honey, vanilla and toffee. Mouthfeel is smooth, round, tiny boozy and full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, coffee, tobacco and wood.

I find this one a little harder to drink than some of the other yeti’s but it is still a marvelous and sexy beer. Extra big coffee added to the complexity of this one that kind of kills it for me. Like i said though still awesome.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 thegreenrooster (2525) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - MAY 26, 2012
Pour is a jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate and alcohol. Flavor is a heavy dose of coffee, chocolate and some vanilla from the oak. I don’t get much of a hop only because the coffee overpowers but the alcohol goes away in the flavor. Leaves a nice roasted/char malt on the tounge. I don’t know about trying this with breakfast like the bottle said but this is good enough to try on its own

Tap. Pour is pure black with a thin brown head. Aroma is loaded with roasted malt, light dark chocolate, faint coffee notes, and a touch of caramel. Flavor is loaded with roasted malt. Also light coffee and light chocolate. Really dominated my the roasted malt notes. solid, but a bit one dimensional.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 b79turner (127) - Alabama, USA - MAY 22, 2012
22oz bomber, bottled 12/2011 poured into a tulip glass. Black as night with a small tan head. Good retention. Nose is chocolate malt, cocoa, nutty, a little bit of espresso. Very thick body. Taste like alcoholic chocolate milk. A slight bitter finish rounds it out. It’s good...but definitely a dessert sipper. The chocolate really stands out, I guess you could down one of these for breakfast!

What a relaxing stout. The aroma is spot on to what’s inside. It’s slightly sweeter than its relative the oak aged non espresso stout.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black color with a tan head. Aroma is filled with espresso coffee notes, some roasted malt, dark chocolate and a little bit of milk chocolate, almost like nesquick, dark fruits, subtle oak notes and vanilla. The flavor follows the nose and has a ton of dark roast coffee and espresso coffee, roasted malts, dark and milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla and subtle oak and some dark fruits. The body is full with a creamy mouth feel. Overall a phenomenal Imperial Stout!
