3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
13.60 bottle from beers of the world rochester ny. Bottled Jan 11, 2012. Pours a dark molasses with a pillowed head or lightly creamy. Big aromas of chocolate brownie, mellowed coffee, burnt caramel, smokey wood, and vanilla. The flavors are slightly downgraded with coffee and chocolate upfront. There is a slight zesty hop profile that just comes through slightly towards the end. A touch of oak and vanilla in there as well. It leaves this espresso like aftertaste not so much on the palate as it is in the nose, interesting! Medium sweet with a medium bitterness. Coffee is more rounded with the other malts and hops in this one. Was expecting a little more in the flavors but still a very great addition to the series.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle shares with Spencer. 2013 vintage. The pour is a nice black with a dark khaki colored foamy head with some great lace. The aroma is a little more reserved than I would expect. There is a strong oak and subtle coffee. Chocolate malts and a light alcohol twinge make up most of the back end. There is is a light dark fruit and tobacco combo that I like. The flavor is surprisingly disappointing. There is a lot of toast and minimal oak and coffee. The coffee doesn't make much of a presence at all, but that could be from age. It's bitter and roasty, like a stout should be, but I was hoping for more. The mouth feel is excellent. The carbonation is soft and velvety and helps it stick around and cling. The aftertaste is lingeringly boozy and bitter. I just wish the coffee made more of a difference

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a thick black with a mocha head. Smells of coffee, roasted malts, earthy/herbal hops. Strong flavors of coffee and roasted malts. Starts lightly bitter, though the bitterness builds the more I drink. Medium+ to full bodied; thick and creamy; carbonation is soft. Lasting bitter finish.

Bomber. Very dark almost black pour with a really thick almond brown head. Strong malty aroma with a hint of coffee. Nice coffee taste at first that finishes with a strong earthy oak flavor. Very smooth and creamy. Great beer

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours dark brown with beautiful, rich dark brown head.
Aroma is wood, liquorice, chocolate, vanilla and coffee.
On taste there is coffee, wood, vanilla, hint of bourbon, chocolate, cocoa and maybe some dark fruits.
Mouthfeel is so freaking rich and smooth, it feels like you can actually chew it, one of the best I have experienced.
Espresso comes more in finish, with some hoppy bitterness, vanilla and chocolate, and adittion there is bit tobacco ash. Medium dry.
This has just taken me by suprise, it’s just so incredibly well balanced and smooth, there is strong aromas and flavours, but nothing overpowers other. This is what I call breakfast stout, huge IS!

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
There aren’t many beer releases that can compete with the following and praise given to Great Divide’s Yeti series. I’m inclined to say that each one is deserving. Take Espresso Oak Aged Yeti, for example. It pours like sludge (except with an even darker color) and has a fluffy, cocoa-colored head. Smells reveal burnt malt, tobacco, slight acridity, espresso, and woodsiness. And the taste? Roasty, smoky, oaky, earthy, and probably other -y words I can’t identify. Despite the intense flavors, mouthfeel is creamy smooth. Now that I’ve had this Yeti release, I’m left with a question. The question isn’t Should I have this again? but What should I pair with it when I do? Breakfast fare as per its suggested food pairings? Or a bold, dark cigar? Decisions, decisions.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A- Tobacco, roasty, smoke, woody, cocoa, subtle coffee, leather.
A- Black color, black liquid, dark brown head.
T- Tobacco, leather, subtle smoke, oak, subtle espresso, roasted.
P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, strong finish.
O- Not a whole lot of the espresso notes here in the nose or taste as I was expecting. You get the regular Yeti with the oak age here and just subtle additions of coffee. The big noticeable thing is what seems like tobacco and leather. Not what I wanted, but still excellent.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black as the darkest dungeon with a creamy beige head. Ok lacing. Loads of espresso in the aroma. Also some oak and chocolate. Thick oily stuff with a smooth mellow carbonation. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness. Actually a pleasant round sweetness. Dominant espresso in the flavor also. And some chocolate, oak and mild fruity. Powerful evening sipper.
