COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is a new addition to the Yeti clan. A generous infusion of Denver’s own Pablo’s espresso adds yet another layer of complexity to this beer, combining with the vanilla oak character, intense roasty maltiness and bold hop profile to create a whole new breed of mythical creature. It’s official, you can now have Yeti with breakfast.

Suggested food pairings: Breakfast burrito, eggs Benedict, hash browns, cheesecake, creme brulee.

The Espresso Yeti acquits itself far better than the Chocolate Yeti. The original Yeti still reigns supreme. The Espresso does what it says on the label by whacking your palate with coffee flavor...some derived from the Yeti itself, the more forward coffee flavor derived from the espresso proposition. Very good...just not as good as it’s ancestor/predecessor.

Pours black with a beige head that leaves beautiful lacing. Aroma has mostly coffee, some vanilla in the background. Taste has light sweetness and medium bitterness from coffee. My bottle is from 2014 and the taste has almost no sweetness left. Full bodied with almost no carbonation. Still very enjoyable beer!

Pours black with a low mocha head. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt, roasted coffee, muscovado sugar, vanilla, oak, slight nutty notes. Taste is roasted and chocolatey with a nice balance between bitterness and sweetness. Mouthfeel is dry yet quite creamy with low carbonation.

Reviewed March 24, 2014. A: Pours a pitch black color. The head is a finger high and dark freakin’ tan in shade. It retains solidly, fading to a thin film in around 3 or so minutes. A bit of lacing is left behind. I love the aesthetic appeal of a dark-ass stout like this. S: Ohhhh yeah. The coffee is definitely here, but nice and subtle (letting it open up will reveal more espresso, natch). There’s also a ton of roast, umami, dark chocolate, and tobacco. I really enjoy the roasted notes of this in particular - it’s gentle and balanced, but also very prevalent. Call me crazy, but I think this is going to taste amazing... T: It starts off very roasty: not just from the coffee, but from the malts, as well. The roast flavors seem to be a touch on the ashy/smoky side - nothing to upset this beer’s balance, though. Right before the swallow, I’m picking up some great dark chocolate notes. Leafy hop bitterness pops up on the finish to meld with some of the irish cream, oak, vanilla, and umami flavors. When it really warms up, it becomes a bit salty, as well. Everything here is in good harmony...actually, this is so good, I kind of don’t want to review this. I just want to drink the hell out of this one. M: I’d call the body "medium-heavy", erring towards heavy when some of the (soft) carbonation fades away. The finish is bitter and dry, but not too bitter or dry. Naturally, it’s not really a chugger. Could care less. O: Last night, I put this bottle in the fridge and said to myself "this will be bitchin’." I was 100% right. This not only tastes amazing, it puts me in a happy place precious few beers can throw me into. Gimme more!

Butelka. Aromat mocno kakaowy, czekoladowy, kawa, lekka wanilia i beczka. Smak dosyć słodki, lekko wytrawny i gorzki. W smaku kakao i kawa, wanilia, lekka paloność. Posmak to cudowne espresso. Ciało pełne, wyklejające, tekstura jedwabista. Świetne piwo.

Bomber from Brewdog as ’Great Divide Espresso Oak Aged Yeti’, 9.5%, 3 months old. Thick pour to form an opaque black beer with a big dense foamy brown head. Aroma is strong coffee, floral hops, roasted barley, chocolate syrup. Nice. Body is smooth, rounded, soft carbonation. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee, spicy, nice ashy roast, floral hops, woody salty finish. A touch of wood but mostly hops and coffee. Seems to get smoother the more you drink, and you get a vanilla fudge and coffee aftertaste. Overall, there’s no denying this is a top-tier imperial stout. Just a pity it’s a bit expensive.

Bomber. Brewdog, Sheffield. Not far off black. Thin, dense, sticky, light brown head. Leggy and viscous. Handsome beer. Nose has bitter chocolate. Fruity coffee bean. Milky coffee. Some woodiness. Some earthy hop. Taste is woody, earthy bitter. Soft, milky sweetness. Mouthfeel is perfect. Full and silky rich. Chocolate and coffee bean bitterness on the finish. Hugely tasty, and scary easy drinking.
