COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Draft to pint. Looks good; a transparent brownish orange with foamy off-white head. Smells and tastes of fresh hops with a pale malt backbone. Nice and smooth on the palate. A good example of the style.

Bomber bottle poured a hazy orange hue w/ a small creamy off-white lasting cap a minor sticky lacing. Moderate aroma of grass, orange, and straw. Initial flavor is a light sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish of long duration. Tastes are prominant grass and lemon w/ a light straw. Wonderfully balanced while showcasing the hop flavor. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, and creamy mouthfeel.

Bottle from Total Wine in Boca Raton, FL. Poured int snifter. Clear orange-light amber with small head and little lacing. Fresh hoppy aroma hits you fast with pine and citrus. Taste is similar but I think my bottle was around too long. I think some of the hops may have mellowed a lot. It wasn’t nearly what I was expecting but it is kind of old. You get the pine, citrus, grass and earth. Smooth mouth with light carbonation. Dry, crisp finish with a lingering pine bitterness. Overall good but I wish I had it within a week or two of delivery.

Awesome APA. The balance of hop to malt flavors is great. It has lots of that citrusy, hop taste without the strong bitterness one associates with IPAs. Plus, the malt notes are really quite flavorful and leave a slight creamy smoothness on the finish. I could drink this every day...

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2014 This is almost an IPA in the flavor and the amount of hop aroma & taste it has. Great beer.

Bottled. Smell of a lot of hops, pine, grass. Pours golden with a nice head that last. Taste hops, citrus, pine and grass. This beer is a nice mellow hoppy beer if you want something that has favor but is still easy to drink.

Old notes from October. Month old bottle poured into a snifter This is my first experience with a wet hop brew so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The aroma is nice and bright although I assumed a beer of this style would have a massive hop aroma similar to opening a bag of hops on brew day. The label says grassy and citrusy and I definitely get both with the grassy being more upfront. The taste is super clean and easy to drink with little to no bitter aftertaste. This would make a great summer beer which fortunately, or unfortunately, lasts year round down in Florida.
