COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

I really enjoyed this beer. I felt it was more on the ipa side. Aroma was quite grassy with some piney and floral notes. Appearance was lighter than i expected but poured a nice light copper color with a decently thick head that left some lacing throughout. Taste was medium bodied and a little sticky mouthfeel. with some decent hop bitterness and a touch of malt sweetness but not much. Carbonation added a refreshing quality i liked and it had a nice long finish. Would recommend eating with thai food or spicy sausage. Very good beer overall. would buy again!

Poured into a pint glass out of a 22oz bomber. Pours a light copper with a slight chill haze. Just a very thin white head that fades rather quickly. Very little lacing left on the glass. Aroma of pine with a touch of citrus thrown in. A little bit of bread from the malt but flowers and grapefruit really dominate. The hop flavors are not quite as prominent in the taste compared to the aroma but they are still the number one feature of the beer. More malt sneaks in in the way of wheat bread and a little dark caramel but it is just barely enough to balance the hops. Bitterness is on the high side leading to a fairly dry finish with just a little stickyness. Overall, a good APA but a little too average. Even with it being fresh hopped there just isn’t a whole lot here that really sticks out to set this beer apart from the thousands like it out there.

Clear orange pour with some bubbly head. Fresh tangerine aroma. Fruity and floral up front. Very bitter after taste. Mild hops. Really good for a pale ale

Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub in Irwin this beer poured a dark caramel color with a medium sized fluffy orange-beige head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy sugar and mixed fruity hops. The flavor was tangy, tart and bitter with vague mixed fruity hops and artificial sugar. Medium length bitter, tart and fruity hops finish. Medium body. Ok.

Pours a light amber, clear with limited head but lots of lacing. Nose is pine heavy. Aromas are pine, some light grapefruit notes. Finding range of aromas a bit thin. Finish is medium bitter. Tastes are medium bitter with no real malt notes to speak of. Light body with lively carbonation.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle (dated Oct. 3, 2012) into a becker pint glass. Pours a honey golden with rich amber hues with a fluffy one and half finger head. The smell of sweet pineapple and fresh grassy notes on the nose is very inviting. Opens with pineapple, flora, and grassy accents, joined by slight breadiness and malt with just the perfect level of sweetness to balance this brew midpalate. Finishes smooth with just a hint of grapefruit rind and pine sap and a slight bite. Medium bodied with a slick, oily, and slight soapy mouthfeel, perfect for a wet hop ale. I look forward to this brew every year. The drinkability of the brew is exceptional as the other characteristics of the brew are not overwhelmed by intense bitterness.
