Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

22 oz. bottle, pours dark copper with a small white head. Grassy hops, pine and citrus on the nose, more reminiscent of an IPA. Flavour of smooth, resiny, piney hops, grass and citrus. Certainly one of the best pale ales I’ve tried yet.

Golden amber ale with a thin creamy white head. As the name and label suggests, fresh green hops, resinous quality, and orange menthol notes. In mouth, a nice floral hops, light grapefruit, oily mouthfeel and pinhey. Almost minty. Medium bodied. Enjoyed with the Mtl Crew Sept. 9, 2006.

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph. Pours a clear, deep golden with a firm, medium frothy white head. Aroma is deeply hoppy with butter, grass, citrus and grapefruit. Feels powerful, but has a great balance to it still. Lively mouthfeel, but also rather full, getting more oily as it warms. Flavour is nicely sweet at first, some sweet caramel and malts. Then a sh**-load of hops take over, never burning. But in the aftertaste, there is a heavily dry hoppiness and it lasts for a very long time. I can’t say that this is ever complex, but still a great fresh beer.

Bottle shared with Duff at the Rake. It pours a dark amber colour with a thin foamy white head. The nose is citrus fruit, roasted malt, hay and grass. It tastes of grass, hay, resin, pine, lemon, orange zest, spruce and some astringency. It’s medium-bodied with an oily texture and has a dry finish. A really drinkable APA.

courtesy of fiulijn - cloudy dark amber-orange colour with a solid but chaotic beige foam; unclean nose, fairly hoppy aroma with notes of flowers, cream and hints of fruits in the background; rounded and full-bodied; solidly bitter; very long flowery hoppy finish, quite dry - a solid and straightforward brew

Bottled. Golden coloured. Unclear. Light brown head. Herbs and pine in the aroma. light fruits and spice notable. Fruits, loads of pine, some flowery notes, spice and sweetness in flavour. Medium bodied. Dry. Has a nice balanced bitterness in the end. Very refreshing and easy to drink. Could easily be a regular in my fridge.
