COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Maria (10214) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 8, 2008
Copper golden with a huge, nice and creamy head, that leaves huge islands of foam, a thick lace and nice curtains on the glass. The aroma has nice and fruity hoppy notes with lots of citrus, papaya, mango, spruce and malt, that gives hints of caramel. The flavour is very nice and harmonic. The fruity hops are the main part with the same delicious notes as in the aroma combined with a nice caramel base. Its a truly delicious beer!

Bottle: Deep golden to copper coloured, slightly hazy, quite stable off-white head; peppery to piney hoppy nose with a caramalty counterpart; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, soft; moderate lingering spicy-hoppy finish, balanced by sweet malt. Fine stuff...

650 ml bottle. From Malm, Sweden. HHOK4.
Deep golden colour with tiny white head. Balanced fruity piney hoppy aroma. Short piney citrusy hoppy flavour that turns to sweetness. The hoppiness is quite sharp at first. Nicely balanced hoppiness. Good and refreshing hoppy ale.

On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso in Dupont Circle. Pours a clear orange/amber with a small white head. Aroma is grassy hops, caramel, pine resin. Taste is syrupy and medicinal with cherry cough syrup and a bit of dry biscuit and dry, grassy hops. Not impressed.

Bottle. Poured a clear amber orange with a frothy tan head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was mainly citrus with a hint of pine, grass and hay. Flavor began with citrus, but grass hops grew and a bit of pine and grains in the finish.

Camons (9827) - Hasselager, DENMARK - MAR 18, 2011
Bottle @ Home. Pours golden with a huge white head, wich setles to a thin ring and lots of laces on the glas sides. Aroma of grass, pine, grapefruit. Taste is light grassy hops, some pine. Medium body, soft carbonation. Good tasty beer, but had higher expectations, would love to try a fresh bottle since the hops seems kindof faded. 180311

I dont give a crap who you are, you must admit that GD makes great beers. This one is no exception. I like my hops like I like my poontang, namely fresh, wet, and aromatic, and this one fits the bill nicely. The pour is dark straw with 2-finger off-white head and those awesome GD floaties. Aroma is huge wet hops and citrus, honeydew, mango, pineapple. The flavor is hoppy, fruity, caramel malty. Pretty dense palate for an APA, and a crisp, very smooth finish with great complexity and balance. This, in my opinion, is the new benchmark for APAs.
