COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Grassy, floral, peachy aroma. Nice head that lasts. Nice amber color. Strong bitter taste. Sticky mouthfeel. Love it.

Pours a glowing hazy orange. Thin white head. Sticky hop aroma. Citrus flavors up front, followed by woodsy floral hops on the back end. Not as sweet as the aroma had me think it would be. Definitely brewed to be a vessel for hops, the malt isn’t that strong. I was expecting this great divide beer to push the Pale Ale a bit more to the IPA class, but they reel it in a bit and come off with a nicely balanced american pale. Very true to the style.

22 oz bottle from Greens....moderate hop and light yeat aroma. Frothy head that recedes slowly. Fresh citrus, grassy hop flavor backed up by a very nice caramel malt undertones. Thin mouthfeel but a very tasty bitter dryfinish. Another great offering to the Beer Gods from GDBC.

BBD of 12/30/13. Pours a light copper with a nice head that laces well. Mild nose of pine hops with a citrus background. Light medium body with normal carbonation. Nice balanced hop flavor with grapefruit at the front while the pine claims the back end. Finishes clean with a slight residual bitterness of mostly grapefruit and then followed by pine. A sound beer that is well suited for those that desire a not too hoppy brew.

22 oz bottle. Pours a light cooper with a slightly off white one finger head. The initial aroma is very nice and almost sweet. The taste showed a moderate hop character but the balance off of the malt was well done. A solid overall APA, better than last year’s effort from memory.

I didn’t think this was as spectacular as most do. There was a filtered amber body with very thick dimpled white head. There was a lot of citrus on the nose mostly grapefruit, but it was not as stellar as many of the other Am. Pale Ales you see.

Bomber pour. Orange amber color with a light white head. The aroma is of wet hop, quite mild. The taste is smooth and hoppy; not very full bodied, finishes dry. Overall the beer is quite hoppy, but manageable.

Bottle. A great hoppy aroma spewed from the bottle with a fruity and citrus smell. Bitter hop flavor with a light earthy taste. Awesome, even with the low IBUs.

Wow! ....Wow! The aroma is remenicent fresh sweet lemons. This amazing brew pours a wonderful hazy golden color with a creamy light tan head that lasts till the fat lady sings. The head leaves a delicate beautiful lace. The flavor is (like the Commercial Description) a pleasant grassiness Iv’e never tasted in a beer before...WOW! It’s great! Some hop spiciness and citrus notes... balanced well with a little sweetness from the pale malts. Just the right bitterness.... and it lingers well. And oh so smooth. It is now officially my favorite pale ale. Oh it’s great. I wish this would never end. But it has to. Thank you Great Divide for Fresh Hop Plae Ale. The Lord bless the hop harvest.
