Grassy, floral, peachy aroma. Nice head that lasts. Nice amber color. Strong bitter taste. Sticky mouthfeel. Love it.

The taste of mother nature at its finest. FRESH HOPS! Almost like drinking grass. Smooth with earthy freshness dangling to the end. Light in flavor and aroma.

It pours orange with amber streaks and a coarse off-white foam. The aroma is grainy and bisquit sweet with a deep grassy, pine and grapefruit side. A truly warm and inviting aroma. In the mouth it starts with the same big bisquit sweetness, transitioning into an intense piney note that carries a firm stroke of bitterness that stands in stark contrast to the initial sweet impression. The sweetness and firm hop presense linger and play together in the mouth like chocolate and coffee.

Very grassy/vegetal smell, same on the taste. Slight citrus but mostly just very green vegetable hop taste. Idk if this got old quickly or what, but this was just not a very good fresh hop.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2008 Piney and very earthy hop flavors. Truly one of my favorites. It has become almost impossible to get in Iowa. A fantastic beer hands down! Great Divide Co. has continued to brew unbelievable world-class ales!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled on date of Oct. 5, 2012. Pours with a medium off-white head that dissipates quickly. Very perfumy aroma with a little fruit and some slight malt hiding in the background. Brilliantly clear with a great dark amber/light copper color. Taste is medium-low hop flavor and bitterness with a grassy/resinous character and a peppery finish. Malt is lower than expected for a beer of this color, but holds its own against the fairly subtle hops. While this beer is fairly malty, some additional malt sweetness (not just maltiness) would have been enjoyable. Mouthfeel is fairly dry. Overall, this is a well-crafted beer, but additional malt sweetness would have helped more satisfyingly balance the resinous, peppery finish of 55 IBUs of wet hops.

On tap @ProofBrewing. Mouthful was definitely grassy hop flavor, with a small sweet malt presence lingering in the background. Though it seems to pack the hop punch of a lighter IPA, the lacking bitterness makes it a great session beer. Those things combined separate it from the hoard of ordinary and boring mass of pale ales. Good stuff.
