COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Awesome APA. The balance of hop to malt flavors is great. It has lots of that citrusy, hop taste without the strong bitterness one associates with IPAs. Plus, the malt notes are really quite flavorful and leave a slight creamy smoothness on the finish. I could drink this every day...

Bottle pour. Pours nice Amber with good nose. Smells of bright, fresh hops. Taste is a little watery. Some good hop flavors, just not great on tongue. Easy to drink with plenty of palate left. Enjoyed for my first wet hop this season.

Nice caramel color and lacing. Mild grassy aroma. Tastes a little sweet, grassy with a little pine coming through. Moderate bitterness and a dry finish. Less bitter than an ipa but different for a pale ale.

Clear caramel gold with a finger foamy yellow-white head and nice lacing. Jammy citrus caramel aroma with some dank hops. Super smooth and very well-balanced. Mild caramel malt bed with a river of pure hop goodness on top. Light pine bitterness. Very drinkable.

Appearance is a cloudy deep golden with a moderate white foam cap. Aroma is strong fresh cut grass, with hints of pine and wood. Taste is a rich, toasty malt that gives way to a strong bitterness and hop flavors of acidic grapefruit, pine, and grass. Mouthfeel is light to moderate with a moderate carbonation. Finishes very dry and sticky on the tongue with a lingering bitterness and grassy flavor. Overall, an assertively bitter APA with tons of grassy hop flavor and aroma.

Pours a light tea colour with pleasant frothy head. Nose is bright and herbaceous, with hints of fruit. Taste is complex with melon rind, white pepper, thyme, hints of mint, bitter grass, and a nice oily, creamy malt palate. Great!

One of the better GD hoppy beers Iíve tried, itís got a nice dank weed quality with a little bit of tropical fruitiness, probably pineapple if I had to guess. Way better than their other IPAs in my experiences.

22 Oct 2014, bottle (best by date: Dec 31 2014). light gold, clear, steady bubbles. nose is peaches and pine hops. smells great! med body and moderately fizzy. pine hops and mildly sweet cereal malt. the nose is gorgeous but the flavor is a bit muted. more bitter than sweet or fruity. decent.

22oz bottle into Tulip. Minneapolis. Appearance: Copper in color. Very slight haze, but mostly transparent. Very little head. Aroma: Hops - I get mostly floral and piney. Light malty backbone. Taste: Mildy bitter. A touch of sweetness. Palate: Medium/thin body. Slick texture. Moderately long finish. Overall: A pleasant beer, but a bit of a disappointment. It is a pale ale I suppose, but I was hoping the hops would be a little less delicate. Still, the flavor is nice and the hop profile is well done.

On draft. Classic, dank wettish hop aroma. Big lacing. Flavor is... sour? Kind of, yes. More sour hops than anything else. Finishes with some tangerine and a hint of caramel. Superb.
