COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grand Cru is our very special Belgian-style dark ale. Imported malts give it a round malty richness, and the fruity complexity and slightly spicy character come from brewing with a proprietary Belgian yeast strain. Don’t let the name fool you; while it may be a special occasion beer, this medium-bodied, elegant incarnation is anything but snobbish. Suggested food pairings: Roasted chicken with thyme, braised short ribs, oven roasted vegetables, grilled sweet potatoes, roaring 40′s blue cheese, bread pudding.

Bomber thanks to Carlos, a significNt great divide flavor in this beer, overly sweet and malty. Decent quad but trumped by most Belgians. Stick to the yeti fellers

Pour is a clear mahogany color with a small tan head. Nose has some notes of caramel and brown sugar, as well as dark fruits. Flavor can best be described as belgian yeast, candied fruit, and some molasses like flavors.

22 oz bottle from Beers of the World in Rochester NY, served in a snifter. Pours clear reddish copper with a small tan head. The head fades to a thin cover and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are notes of caramel, spice and fruit, along with candi sugar, raisins and a touch of earth. The flavour is quite sweet with notes of molasses, raisins and candied fruit, along with a touch of herbal hops and Belgian yeast. The finish is long and malty sweet with a fair hoppy balance and a touch of spice. Overall, this is a decent dark Belgian-style ale. It is very malty sweet with candi sugar and fruit. A very pleasant brew for winter. 2011-11-11

Raisin, yeast and sugary aromas. Pours brown with a small white head. Flavors of root beer, sugar, and sweet malts. Overall a pretty decent beer.

Serving: 22 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a deep mahogany color with dense, light tan head. The nose is sweet and bready with some caramel, vanilla, and leather. The flavor is cloyingly sweet with leather and too much vanilla. Throw in an off metallic note. Heavy on the tongue with lower carbonation. Despite a promising start, this one finished terrible for me. Not very good.

Dark Brown/Ruby clear pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, vanilla, some dark fruit. SOme Belgian yeast on the nose too. Flavor is sweet, a little sticky, malty, caramel, "Belgian." Mouth feel is warm alcohol but not hot. Good beer.
