COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

Bottled. A blonde beer with an off-white head and a little lace. A lemony yeasty aroma with a little funk. A yeasty peppery hoppy taste. A bit light of body and feels that it needs more oomph and more funk but it’s drinkable enough.

good Belgain style. I liked the bitterness at the end. easy to drink and For a 7% the alcohol is not over powering.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. Information on the bottle includes a short description of the beer, a "Bottled On" date and the abv% (7.8). Appearance: The body has a light golden color with very fine sediment hanging around inside giving it a slight haze. The head is bright white, about an inch tall from the pour and slowly fads to a thin light cap. This cap hangs on well and it also makes some cool lacy fingers on the glass. Smell: The aroma has solid fruity, yeasty and slightly funky character over a light pale biscuity maltiness. Taste/Palate: The flavor reflects this with a fruity and dusty yeast showing notes of pear and spice with mild floral/herbal hop bitterness over a pale malty base. Dry spicy yeast and mild hop bitterness linger on in the finish which sets you up for the next sip. Notes: I am very impressed with this great example of a Belgian Strong Pale Ale from Great Divide!!!

Bottle: Small white head on top of a clear yellow to golden colored beer. Smell fruits, spices, yeast and sweets. Taste fruits, hops, citrus, yeast, spices, sweets and a hint of bitter. Low to medium carbo and body, soft tingly mouthfeel.

bottle from bierzwerg! The beer in the glass is slightly pale golden yellow with a soapy, high head. The smell is revealed sweet hoppy, minimal alcoholic. The beginning part is very citrusy fresh, subtle and pleasantly yeasty hoppy. The aftertaste is marked discreetly from alcohol, the yeast also comes through better. To the center part, the grapefruit / citrus aroma is even better.

I’ve never meet a Belgian woman, at least not that I’m aware of, but if there are anywhere near as superior to other women as Belgian ales are to regular ales, my ticket for Brussels is already booked, or would be, if I didn’t spend all my money on new beers. Like this one! Anyways, the taste is definitely the standout feature of this one. Deliciously drinkable while still strong, it fuses the typical Belgian dulcitude with some fruitalicious yeast: citrus, and perhaps grape.

There is only a small head on this and it’s about as clear as beer gets. The nose is spicy clove and a bit of banana w/ a sort of grassy character in the background. This is a medium bodied beer and maybe slightly lacking in carbonation for the style. I’d say the texture of this would be more appropriate for an IPA or something but it works well enough here. There is a very mild tartness to this which brings out some sweet orange citrus in the flavor. This is a pretty typical American take on a Belgian style in that it is a bit more reserved in its yeast character and carbonation that you’d expect from one that was brewed in Belgium.
