3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pineypower (1816) - Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA - SEP 5, 2010
Pours out a cloudy wit looking color with tiny bubbled of a head. Aroma is of some tart fruits, yeast, lemon and some spice. Taste is smooth, and rather drinkable, lots of spice, cloves, some fruits, citrus, yeast and a slightly dry finish where the hops make an appearance, but not much of one. Body was a bit thin. Solid, and definitely drinkable, dangerously so.

Bottled (bought from Ölkonsortiet, Aalborg). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is hops, glue, grass and some slight notes of yeast. Flavour is hops, slight pumpkin, grass, grains and glue. Something like a clash between Belgian Ale and American Pale Ale.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 beerbill (2938) - Laurel, New York, USA - APR 8, 2008
22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a moderate white head that lasted until mid-glass but left no lace. Pleasant aroma of sweetgrass, yeast and malt. The flavor is yeasty with some spice and malt with a bit of sugary sweetness. Slightly funky as well. Lightly bitter at the finish.

Up front it’s just lemon and some raw grain (a bit bready). A light hoppiness in the back and a bitterness makes this feel more like a golden ale with some belgian yeast. A little bit of a lemony tang and some hints of corriander. Pretty good, but hardly memorable. Probably the first beer I can think of that crosses Belgian and American without taking it to IPA or Imperial extremes. I guess I feel like it’s fine, but I’d rather have either a full out Belgian or IPA, rather than a dumbed down cross breed.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Svesse (4397) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - FEB 15, 2010
(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Pale golden colour with brief, foamy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of citrus, apricots and spicy hops. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, apricots, pienapple, coriander, a hint of yeast and generous amounts of spicy, citrussy hops. Slightly above medium body, leaning in the sweet direction. Nice and tasty with a generous spicy hop character.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BigBeer45 (973) - Michigan, USA - NOV 7, 2007
Bomber, poured into a tulip a clear yellow gold with white bubbles, some effervesence, poured into a trappist (Gouden Carolous)
it looks the same with a touch of haze, faint malt, malt sweetness, yeast, pear and apple fruit with some floral fragrances,
some malt, fruit and sweet flavors, faint spice and pepper, with some citrus bitterness on the tongue that gives a medium dry finish,
bubbly and light on the palate, alcohol is hidden pretty well in this brew.

Pours out bright yellow, not much head at all on this one actually maybe some fizz here or there. Aroma is ok, typical sweet and spicy mixture you would expect on any decent belgian. Taste was honestly kinda rough at first when this thing first came out of the chiller, pretty abrasive and alcoholic. But the thing warms up and you start to enjoy it more and notice the spices and doughy flavor of the yeast. Not too bad, not too great. Kinda unremarkable.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 zebracakes (1339) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 29, 2007
On tap at D’s Six Pax. Clear yellow, white head. Aroma is funky, musty, tangy. Flavor is funky cheese, sausage, and wheat. More like a saison or farmhouse.

Not a big fan of belgians, but tis one was great. Tasted at the Tap Room, this one poured a hazy yellow with a nice white head. The aroma is exactly what you would expect from a belgian, full of yeasty fruity aromas. As far as belgians go, this is at the top of my list.
