COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

Pours a cloudy, golden color. The aroma is mild and disappointing, maybe a hint of sweet malt doughyness, along with a trace of spice, but it took a lot of work to reach that determination. This is a flavorful beer compared to the aroma, however its still fall short of most classic Belgian ales. Somewhat yeasty and sweet, with gentle carbonation, and spice, accented in the finish by a touch of hops in the finish. Overall a good quality beer.

Perfectly clear dandelion yellow. No bubbles. Large bubbles of head explode and leave what looks like a foamy white mountain range. The head recedes to a layer of film that leaves slight lacing. The aroma has bright floral hops, slightly metallic, with hints of apples and pear. The flavor tarts sweet with notes of citrus and grass dominating. Thereís also some spicy yeast in there, and a high hoppy bitterness throughout, but more so at the finish. Medium-light mouthfeel, pleasant carbonation level -- itís not too intense, just lets you know itís there. Enjoyable? Sure. Memorable? Not so much.

Here is an oddly named Belgian golden ale. Lightly lemony with a good amount of wheat malt/hefeweizen flavor. Pale pour with lacing, and a mild sour-sweet aroma. Another good GD release.

Bottle to shaker glass. Pours a quick white head, little lacing, a little retention on the sides. Aroma of wheat, yeast and anise. Taste is slightly sour, lightly bitter. Medium body, soft small bubble carbonation, slick mouth feel. Finishes dry with notes of wheat, yeast, sour apple and spice. Itís ok.

Pour at great divide. Light orange pour with a pretty head. Aroma of apple cider, champaign. Great golden ale. Light crisp, reminds me why its one of my favorite styles.

"wow...underrated beer!! this beer was actually the surprise on day 1 of SF beer week. light and crisp, with noticeably spiciness and dry yeastiness. tangy and very refreshing. not super complex, but complex enough. fresh citrus hop and spice aroma. this would be an excellent warm weather beer."

On tap, poured into a sampler. Belgian aromas of banana, clove, and lemon come through on this one with a note of buttered toast. It pours slightly hazy, yellow-gold with a white, small-bubble, even head that reduces to a streaky wispy surface with a medium thin ring. The taste is a medium high, fruity sweet with a light bitterness. The medium-full, spicy and fruity body has a light, oily texture to it with a zippy carbonation. Definitely lemon and grass in the finish which is dry and spicy and leaves a moderately astringent, refreshing, lingering aftertaste.

12 oz bottle from the Big Show mixed 12 pack. Darker golden and clear appearance with a white head. Belgian notes, spicy yeast, light hops and light alcohol. It was OK.

The body has a light golden color with very fine sediment hanging around inside giving it a slight haze. The head is bright white, about an inch tall from the pour and slowly fads to a thin light cap. This cap hangs on well and it also makes some cool lacy fingers on the glass. The aroma has solid fruity, yeasty and slightly funky character over a light pale biscuity maltiness. The flavor reflects this with a fruity and dusty yeast showing notes of pear and spice with mild floral/herbal hop bitterness over a pale malty base. Dry spicy yeast and mild hop bitterness linger on in the finish which sets you up for the next sip.
