syton98 (40), USA Jun 15, 2009 The best do,uble IPA I have tried. It beats Dogfish 90 hands down. The hops last on your palet. abcfan (247), New Jersey, USA Jun 13, 2009 Very good brew overall. Poured orange/copper with a creamy tan head. Aroma was full of citrus and pine hops, with a hint of malt sweetness. Taste was incredibly citrus/grapefruit with a biting finish. A very good IIPA, would drink again. cprochak (388), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 13, 2009 Updated: Aug 31, 2009Re-rate draft: On tap at the brewery on 7/18/09. Pours clear orange copper with super frothy white head. Citrus and floral hops. Super clean finish with a great hops flavor. Still not the hopbomb of others, but much more drinkable in my mind.
Bottle from Malt and Vine. Fantastic aroma and good looking copper IPA with nice white head. Unfortunately, it was a bit underwhelming. Okay bitterness, but I would’ve liked to see a bit more. Nice vanilla undertones and a good sweetness, but I expected a bit more bitter oomph out of the hercules. Still another good one from GD. MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Jun 12, 2009 Bottle from Ryan’s Party store in Port Huron ON- A deep and hazy orangey pour with a frothy and sticky white cap. Nice lace here too. Full on piney and floral hops, orange and grapefruit, heavy on the fruity malts, some bready notes. Nice hop profile in the flavour department. Orange and grapefruit again, with mango and apricot sweetness. A bit of pine/sap comes through. Balanced malts and hops, no trace of the ABV. Quite well made. Thanks for picking this up for me Chris and Erin! GardenGabe (125), Denver, Colorado, USA Jun 9, 2009 Pour is golden with a think creamy long lasting tan head. Smells of bitters and grapefruit. Mouth feel is creamy and full on the tongue. Taste is bitter , cloves, pepper, and some citrus all very mouth on the front of the tongue. Some alcohol in the finish lasting peppery sting. kassner (429), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 8, 2009 Great for us Hop Heads.. Bottle copper colored with a nice head that held well. Great aroma a big hop . zthe alcohol plays well and is not that noticeable PJClarke (610), London, Greater London, England Jun 1, 2009 This as all a little over the top, but what did I expect? A great aroma really, big resiny hops like a grapefruit in a sauna. It is once it gets in the mouth I found it a little heavy and almost cringingly dry. I shall not deny it has plenty of plus sides but it is far from my favourite. Derek881 (489), Frederick, Maryland, USA Jun 1, 2009 Another great beer I sampled on tap at Max’s in Baltimore. The beer had a clear, rich amber-copper color with a thick, bubbly white head that had decent cling and retention. The aroma was a mix of floral and grainy hops with some mild yeast and touches of citrus and pine too. The flavor was good, a bit bitter with a touch of sour character, it had some floral and grainy citrus tones. The beer had modest carbonation, but good wetness with a dry finish. A pretty full body with some lasting cling in the mouth.
