Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Oh how I miss this beer readily available where I live. Beautiful dark amber color. It is a bit off balanced with citrus and hops dominating but thats why I love this double ipa. A bit of malt and a ton and another ton of hops on the palate followed closely behind with hints of pine and citrus flavors all destroying your tongue. Nice and smooth drinking still for hop heads and people that just appreciate great beer. Also laces the glass all day long. As a nice amount of head that sticks around on the initial pour as well. Lets get this guy back in richmond, va!

Pours a clear, dark orange, small head. Aroma is surprisingly mild, floral and citrus hops, caramel malt, fruits. Flavour is also quite subdued compared to other DIPAs, but the hop bitterness lingers for a long time. Very nice and balanced, alcohol well hidden, refreshing and drinkable.

An interesting Double IPA...not as bitter as I had expected. Probably balanced out by the undertones of malt that are present throughout the beer. Much more fruitiness than some other Double IPAs that I have sampled...citrus with some other lite fruits.....some hints of pine. Nice pour, great color. Overall, a decent double IPA

22oz. bomber, pours dark gold almost amber red, small pure white head. Aroma is floral citrus all the way, lively mouthfeel, good malt balance not insanely hopped, severely bitter finish. Huge good DIPA, all glory be to the hop.

Poured from 650ml bottle into pint glass: Aroma - Citrus and pine hops, caramel. Appearance - Dark golden amber in color with 1-2 finger white head. Head dissipates quickly leaving spotty lacing on glass. Flavor - Grapefruit and pine at first followed by carmel. Maltier than expected from the smell. Finishes with citrus, pine and some warmth from the alcohol. Palate- Medium. A bit slick. Not a lot of carbonation. Overall - This is a big beer! It’s reasonably priced (@3.69?. However, I’ve had some better tasting DIPA’s. There is certainly nothing wrong with it; and at the price, it’s worth a try.

2008 Bottle - Thanks BuckeyeBoy! - Pours orange with a small off-white head...terrific aroma, citrusy hops with caramel malt ...flavour was similar, great balance, great hop florals and bitterness, malty finish...this was a good one!
