COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Herculesí aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bottle. Amber colour with a off-white head. Hoppy nutty aroma and a light sweet hoppy taste. Medium to full body and a light sweet dry hoppy finish. Great!

This should be considered textbook example of the style. One of the best beers, period, I have had from a bottle. Iron backbone, enough hops to satisfy the biggest hophead, yet backed with a solid malt firmament that keeps it from being too pointedly hoppy. Loved it.

Bottled at DBF 2005. Orange coloured with a solid lacing head. Nice aroma with lots of fruits and hops. Nice sweet flavour with lots of fruits and hops. Nice long bitter finish. Not as bitter as North Bridge Extreme.

Pours cloudy golden color with a thick white head. Smells of rich hoppy goodness with sweet and nutty malt undertones too it, although the scent is somewhat weak for an Imperial IPA. Taste is a rich hop bitterness with a slight malt hint to it, would like a little more complexity to it. Aftertaste is kind of sour at the end but with crisp and bely warming goodness.

Botle poured copper/ amber with a thick heavy head and sticky lacing. Heavy hop aroma. Flavor is hops, citris with a strong alcohol kick on the palate. GOOD BEER!

This is the first Great Divide beer I have tried since they just became available in Georgia. I was very impressed with the flavor, aroma and appearance of this very hoppy brew. Nice work guys!

Bottle. Great Divide has come big with this brew. Dark amber cloudy hue with average frothy off-white head. Heavy hop and medium malt aroma. Moderate bitter flavor with a balanced long finish. Very good full body brew.

UPDATED: MAY 16, 2007 Amber with a large head, good lacing and retention. Aroma is grapefruit, pine, wood, caramel. Medium bodied, moderate bitterness, slightly syrupy mouthfeel. The first time I had this it blew my mind. The 2nd time it was still really enjoyable. This time itís still good but nothing makes it stand out among IIPAs.

22 oz. bottle. pour was a fiery orange with a frothy white head, fading to lace all the way down till the end of the glass. aroma was very piney and the flavor was rich and malty. finish was more hop bitterness and some alcohol bite. a very good DIPA, just not quite the perfect one. the search goes on!
