Sweet gingery aroma - very nice. Sticky sweet palate, low carbonation. Some soapy hops. Full malty sweet body, grapefruity, but not exciting. I think this would become boring or annoying after a while. Long sticky sweet soapy finish. Covers 9.1% pretty well. puggy211 (576), cordova, Tennessee, USA Aug 25, 2008 Pours a hazy copper with a medium head. Huge lacing with a strong aroma of pine with hints of citrus. One sip and you can taste the bold hops and nutty malts. Full bodied and you can feel the acohol presence, but it is not overwhelming. The finish leaves a nice bitterness. This is a great Imperial IPA. JK54B (913), Helsinki, Finland Aug 25, 2008 Updated: Aug 26, 2008Some grapefruit in the nose. A beige head. Strong hoppy taste. SOme mild toffey in the taste. Sticky and scrapy. Slight sweetness. Warming alcohol. A 0.66L bottle shared at Pikkulintu. TEJA (281), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 25, 2008 Big foam that stays for a long time. Nice cupper-amber color. The aroma is huge with cascade and pine. The taste is to unbalanced with too much bitterness eaven though I love hops and bitterness. There is some body with maltiness and caramell but it isn’t enough to give an enoyable beer. Borresteijn (1349), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 25, 2008 Bottle from a gift pack. Amber colour, white head. Aroma of hops, grapefruit, pine. Flavour is bitter, hoppy, grapefruit and pine, a bit soapy, malty sweet. Bitter finish. I prefer the Titan IPA, but I wouldn’t spit in this beer. daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Aug 24, 2008 Bottle from total wine. Amber pour wtih a pretty nice head. Aroma is citrus and herbal hops. Flavor is pretty bitter and hoppy. For me it could have used a tad more malt, but it was still a good as hell IIPA. 41cubs (131), , New Jersey, USA Aug 23, 2008 Updated: Sep 9, 2008This one through me for a loop from start to finish. Pours the most gorgeous cloudy burnt orange with a supple white head. No citrus acidity, no crispness, no hop bang associated with the style. A whole lot of creamy 2% milk viscosity all the way through the temp. range. Strong malty profile is undeniable with a greatly understated (for the style) hoppiness in the background. Big change from what I’m used to from DIPA’s. Awesome effort, very enjoyable for the entire 22oz.. 2008 edition. gringo332 (236), Richardson, Texas, USA Aug 22, 2008 Too bitter for me. I didn’t enjoy the aftertaste. Bottle. Poured burnished copper with thick lasting head. Much lacing. Fresh pine, floral and citrus notes in the hop.
