mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 21, 2008 [1603-20080816] 355mL bottle. Hoppy citrus peel grains and a bit of evergreen in the aroma. Slightly hazy, light orange brown body with a quick white foam. Hoppy bitter evergreen hops flavour. Medium body is boozy. Good.
(@ Cole’s IPA Festival; Buffalo, NY) BeerGestapo (725), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 21, 2008 (USA) Courtesy of AFI96, thanks Waylo !! Pours a lite orange color with a med white head. There is a very strong aroma of amarillo, and citrus. The taste is of grapefruit big time with a hint of caramel. The mouthfeel is bitter but at the same time very pleasant. The 9.1% is concealed very well here. This IPA is recommended !! afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 20, 2008 Hazy orange-amber body topped by wispy white head. Smells strongly of my favorite hop, Amarillo, big grapefruit, citrus smell. Taste is much the same, fresh and juicy, some caramel and alcohol warmth are also noted. Smooth lasting bitterness accompanies the flavor. Great stuff. gameface23 (131), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Aug 18, 2008 Hazy orange with a great looking head that leaves impressive lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops with a well rounded taste, great mouthfeel, and finish that is pure flavor without the bitterness. Great beer! Linnet (107), , Sweden Aug 18, 2008 Updated: Nov 2, 2008very nice aroma and appearence. The flavour was very intense. This was my first double IPA and it left me wanting for more. jonno (542), Brisbane, Australia Aug 18, 2008 A great hoppy smack to the chops. Very enjoyable in that american hops overkill way. could do with a bit more balance, but one to reach for in the cooler months fezzik20 (8), USA does not count Aug 17, 2008 After one beer, this vaults into my top 3 very easily. Reminiscent of/cross between Dogfish’s 90 Min IPA and a Stone Double Bastard, it is very balanced, yet very hoppy. You’d never know it was 9.1% alcohol. Do yourself a favor and pick up a 4 pack. troopie (851), USA Aug 16, 2008 Bottle. Poured burnished copper with thick lasting head. Much lacing. Fresh pine, floral and citrus notes in the hop. Citrusy flavour with flower notes and a bit of malt to keep it from being too bitter Lasting hop finish. A lekker beer.
