mansquito (819), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Aug 2, 2008 Pours with a beige head and a clear amber color. Hops and flowers go straight to the nose. Really hoppy taste, that stays in the aftertaste as well. Flowery taste. Nice and complex. It is almost bready, but with a bite of doom in it. Todeon (314), Sweden Aug 2, 2008 Bottle. Well balanced! Flavor is a bít sticky sweet but at the same type really bitter with lots of fruity notes. Really nice hoptouch to it all. Great Double IPA! FSUmac (2), , Tennessee, USA does not count Aug 2, 2008 Fantastic double IPA. Very well balanced. The hops are certainly there in abundance, but there is some malt there as well. Sticky mouthfeel. The alcohol will sneak up on you! Kalli (474), Falun, Sweden Aug 1, 2008 Lovely reddish amber but the head vanishes mostly leaving not a lot of lacing.
Pretty big aroma with apricots, caramel, citrus (orange or perhaps grape) in the aroma which finishes "winter fresh".
Oily in the mouth and the alcohol warms immediately. All the way to my ears! Quite malty to back up the big hops, which I like, with a bit of roastiness. It’s bitter all the way through. Oily, bit resiny hops.
It’s an odd elixir but I quite like it. Ljunkan (379), Karlstad, Sweden Aug 1, 2008 Updated: Sep 5, 2008Bottle from Systembolaget. Nice amber color with a large white head. Aroma of citrus, elder, pine-needle and that kind of hoppy stuff. Flavour is hoppy, with citrus, flowery notes, elder, pine-needle and grapefruit. The bitterness is great. There’s also some malt coming through in the end, bringing a caramel/toffee flavour. Extremely fullbodied in the palate, fantastic, thick and long-lasting. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jul 30, 2008 22 oz bomber. Poured a clear amber color with a huge white head. Citrus aroma. Very hoppy taste, but well balanced. Great beer. MaltOMeal (642), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Jul 29, 2008 bomber. Pours a clear, golden orange with a thin off-white head. Nose is of citrus, but not strong. Taste is of citrus with pine and caramel. The mouthfeel is powerful with crisp, biting hops with a bitter finish. Good brew for me. tedovertu (259), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA Jul 27, 2008 Grapefruit hoppiness in the aroma. Small white virtually non lacing head. Murky amber/orange color with large particles floating around. Moderately bitter finish that is long lasting on the back end. Medium body that is rather dry in nature. Soft carbonation with a moderate alcohol presence.
