Otje (668), Leiden, Netherlands Feb 23, 2008 Very good sipper. Lots of pine, citrus and hop off course, but also some maltness and sweetness. Overall this is a bitter and hoppy DIPA. And i love those extreme american hopbombs. Well done!! joekfsu (138), Boardman, Ohio, USA Feb 21, 2008 16 oz pint glass poured at Vintage. Pours golden orange with 1 cm off white head. Aroma is more citrus than pine, but both are overwhelming. Initial flavor is sweeter than expected for a double IPA, but still well balanced with the huge amount of hops. Hops dominated the aftertaste of the beer, and it is lasting. Some lacing, very light carbonation, light to medium body, and only some alcohol noted. High drinkability and hides the alcohol well. imadeadguy (378), back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA Feb 19, 2008 22oz bommer. Deep hazy orang/copper pour. Citrus, pine, and hops to the nose. Sweet but bitter finish almost perfect. Impressing double IPA. I’ll be drinking this one again! durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA Feb 18, 2008 22 oz bottle. Dark orange pour with off-white head that leaves some lacing. Floral/citrus pine notes in the aroma make me think this is going to be slightly more bitter, but there’s a nice balance of hops and malt and more creaminess than one usually expects from a double IPA. A little thin on the palate, perhaps. It’s not an overwhelming IPA at all--very drinkable and refreshing for 9.1% Very smooth... I appreciate that it’s not over the top. Hercules, Hercules! Davinci (295), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 18, 2008 Nice copper color with medium head and lacing. Some particulate in the glass. Floral hops in the nose. Spicy hop flavor with floral and citrus elements. Another great DIPA. thooper41 (384), Oregon, USA Feb 16, 2008 12oz bottle: pours a hazel amber color. aroma is hoppy with a hint of malt. flavor is a strong hopped beer with some malt on the backside. good hoppy IIPA very hoppy but could use more. scoobysnak (249), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Feb 15, 2008 Pours a copper color with a off white head that disappates to a light foaming of bubbles. Smell is hops, good floral nots with a strong citrus grapefruit presence. Taste is hops but surprisingly a caramel or maybe toffee presence. Very good. Joeh (1908), Buckinghamshire, England Feb 15, 2008 Bottle. A copper coloured ipa with a thick offwhite head. Fantastic aroma of piney hops, a bit spirity. Flavour is dominated by hops, quite over the top bitterness, and not enough malt to balance it out, everything is drowned out by the crude bitterness.
