thill25 (216), Orlando, Florida, USA Jan 27, 2008 Bottle. Used a fairly aggressive pour on this beer to bring out the nose...Very citrusy w/ a hint of spice. Very hoppy with a distinct alcohol finish. Not as smooth as some DIPAs I’ve had. It was also a very "heavy" beer. I would not seek out this beer again. Goodgrief (1147), Middletown, Delaware, USA Jan 26, 2008 April 2006 - This was an okay DIPA...perhaps it’s unfair, but this gets knocked down a few points in my mind simply because it pales in comparison to the Titan IPA. The hops are not as complex (basically piney) and not as well balanced out with any malty goodness. It’s basically pine and sweet alcohol. Good, but not great. suzquaffs (12), Surrey, England Jan 26, 2008 Bottle from stock (Quaffs). Cloudy, dk amber with a good head. Aromas of hops, hops, hops and alcohol. Bitter taste with warm alcohol finish. Sparkling in the mouth then warming. Bit too heavy on the alcohol for this hophead. hiddenvariable (194), pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 25, 2008 bottle. deep hazy copper with a bunch of floaters and a decently sized off-white head that takes its time going away. huge citrusy hop nose with pineapple, orange, and grapefruit dominating, followed by bready malts, a bit of spicy hop, and some earthy and sprucey resin hops. more huge citrus hops in the taste, with a solid floral note, backed up by a solid malt backbone. big pleasant bitter finish, with a great malty sweetness to balance, medium-full thick chewy body, and a great coating bubbly mouthfeel. certainly one of the better 2ipas i’ve had, and one i like to indulge in regularly. great stuff! Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Jan 24, 2008 Aroma is richly hoppy and promising. Color is a beautiful dark amber with a nice thick head. Flavor is seriously hoppy and has a piney tone and some bitterness. I highly recommend this beer to all hops fanatics. Slayer85 (582), Firenze, Italy Jan 24, 2008 Bottled. A nice unclear red beer, with a medium sized but collapsing beige head. Good aroma, plesant, even if standardized, fruity with mainly notes of grapefruit and some light malt touches of caramel and bread. The flavour is well hopped, but with enough balance and has notes of citric and tropical fruits (grapefruit, pineapple, light orange), Medium to full body, soft/average carbonation, long aftertaste with medium to heavy bitterness. Good mouthfeel something between oily and creamy and the alcohol is well hidden. Less filling and tedious than other beers of the same style, good but not really well balanced and sometimes too "heavy". Interesting and well done. Rakluba (33), Cary, North Carolina, USA Jan 23, 2008 Great beer.... Poures a great amber color with a tall tan head. Hops are the first taste then a complex kind of honey taste comes. This is a great Double IPA. I will buy this beer again. 45thstbrewer (94), Conowingo, Maryland, USA Jan 22, 2008 Great Divide Hercules Double IPA is an excellent brew. Well worth the money spent
