4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
22oz bomber poured into a Duvel tulip glass. Pours a cloudy amber with lots of sediment in the second half of the bottle. Decent size head that leaves lots of layers of lacing. Aroma is citrus, and caramel. As I drink this, the caramel sweetness of the malt is the first thing that hits me followed by the slight piney bitterness from the hops which stays all the way through the end. Almost seems like you can switch back and forth between the malt and hops at will. No alcohol burn which is surprising considering it’s 10% abv.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
1/2 at Brewdog Edinburgh. Pours copper/gold, good lacing. Floral but also resin nose. Moderate carbonation. Big floral and citrus hit on the initial taste, with a bit of pine on the follow through. Stupidity drinkable for the abv. A proper IPA no argument. Bravo!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours copper with a medium white head. There’s some red berries on the nose, quite juicy. Quite a juicy start to the beer with a full on punch in the face bitterness.

On tap in brewdog Nottingham. Excellent dipa, really surprised by the smooth taste, the label says 10 % alc. But could not feel this power at all. One of the best so far.

3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a bottle. Copper amber with a medium brownish head. Smells of medicine, spice, pineapple, not the most appealing combination. Has a wonderful taste, extremely well balanced, sweet but not over sweet and just the right bitter. Excellent in spite of the aroma.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap pour into smaller than it should be 10 oz glass at City Works with commonshawn. Copper color with a more evident reddish hue. Very little head but looks like it’s an off white. Nose has some standard IPA qualities with some pine, citrus, and dankness (for lack of a better term). Taste has a healthy malty backbone more pronounced than other imperial IPAs. Hoppy bitterness is definitely present especially as it nears completing of the sip. Alcohol presence felt...strong. Kind of funny this was served up in such a small glass given the name and the alcohol hit. In general, feels a little overrated on this site. Still very good.

Brewdog Camden. Wasn’t too impressed with this. Aroma was kind of soapy even, taste showed the high alcohol.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A bottle from the Great Divide Big Show box that I got last week.
It pours clear with a beautiful dark amber color. A three finger high, white-yellow head that leaves lacing on the glass.
Nose: Caramel malt, fudge, butter, syrup, pine, resin, orange and a bit of citrus.
Taste: Again the caramel - a lot of caramel! Resin, pine, citrus, lemon zest and tea.
Mouthfeel: Full body. High carbonation. A large bitterness that grows at the end and even after the beer has gone down my throat. Bitter, dry ending.
Great Divide has done a great job to hide the high ABV (10%) in the taste. I only recognize it from the warmth in my body :)

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
I was excited because of how highly it is rated (3.9 at the time of this review) but disappointed. The aromas is very nice....hops with a touch of pine in the back. The initial taste is good, too....hop, bite, pine, burn, but it leaves an almost metallic taste on the palate.
I've noticed that after having a few sips that the metallic taste has almost faded completely and am left with just the good. Also a nice warming of the mouth and gums. I was initially giving it a 3.3, but I'm going to bump my score up to 3.7. Well done.

Originally rated on 7/24/08. Its not for the faint of heart", Wow! they got that right, I’m glad I had another ipa before this one, otherwise my taste buds would have been decimated if this was the first beer of the day. A deep orange-amber body, minimal carbonation with tan head, all the suspended particles made it look like my glass was dirty. Aroma was very piney and floral, it remined me of canned pineapples, very sweet. It was almost to intense to enjoy the flavors of sweet nutty malts, citrus and fruit. A little too hoppy for me, but a great beer, If you enjoy a super hopped beer this one is for you

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours golden with a white head, fine lacing. American hops, citrus fruits and malt on the nose; prefigures a powerful IPA. Medium to full body, thick texture, average carbonation. Bitter in taste, no signs of alcohol whatsoever.
