Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bottle. Whew this is a huge beer. Vibrant golden apricot pour with a foamy off-white head. Zesty, fresh, hoppy aroma, with a kick of sweetness as well. Hop flavors are dominating, more citrusy than piney. A sturdy maltiness bolsters the hops, though--caramel, apricot sweetness aided by a slight dose of alcoholic warmth. Full and complex, and leaves a lasting hoppy bitterness on your lips. Literally: just lick your lips after a few sips and you can taste it. Excellent.

Bottle. Pours a very deep amber/orange color with nary a head. Very citrusy nose with malts very present. Taste is very malty with a bitter hop back. Maybe too much as the hop lingers a very long long time. The mouth feel is thick and cream almost stout like. I’m not normally an IPA fan, but I kind of like this stuff. It’s pretty sweet and not a all over hopped. A very good beer.

Bottle. A good beer, although a disappointment. Both the aroma and the flavour is rather one dimensional. A little too bitter and there is a lack of real character.

From a 22 oz bottle this poured an attractive dark orange almost tending toward copper with a nice white head and good lacing. Very attractive. Nose is a complex mixture of hops, with pine, citrus, and flowers. Miouthfeel is fairly full but the flavors are so overwhelming you hardly notice because your taste buds are dancing. This is a true hop bomb but manages it better than most .Great bitter finish. Fantastic beer. Rating number 1100. I get music.

650 mL bottle. Transparent copper-orange with a nice head. Lots of piney hops in the aroma. The hops bring grapefruit to the flavour, and a lovely bitterness begins about half way through and remains through the finish. The malt does not balance out the hops, but the hop flavour are so well done that you don’t want it to. Medium to full body. Very drinkable for a DIPA.

A lovely hoppy thing. Very strong citrus hoopy aroma but also enough malt in the taste to make this work on other levels than just being extreme. The sweetness is present both aroma and taste but it plays second fiddle well like a good guest musician.
