Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules’ aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bottle pour cherry orange. Low head with hoppy nose. Wish I chilled it longer... bitter after. Why am I getting a malty alcoholy flavor? I expected more

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a semi-dark hazy brown color with a thin white semi-foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Light messy lacing The aroma starts off with some glazed orange/citrus peel/rind bitter to sweet hops with some piney bitterness. Caramel malt balances in a sweet malty way. The flavor takes the sweetness of the hops to the sweetness of the malts to enunciate a low riding overall sweetness. Light tobacco smooths into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a slidingly smooth sipping quality to it. Carbonation runs fairly light. Overall, old school styled DIPA that alleviates the pain of wanting it to be modernized. So, it’s built to last malty body helps it make it the sipper that it is.

33cl bottle. The beer is clear with beautiful copper/red color and a medium, creamy head. Aroma of the beer is very sweet with resinous and strong fruity syrup notes. Also some fruity jelly with alcohol. Mouth feel is thick and creamy with delicate carbonation. Which is nice. Flavor is sweet, almost cloying sweet like a barley wine. But there is a lot of hop burn and resinous/fruity character ending with medium bitterness. Like I said the hop burn and medium bitterness makes is a quite balanced and delicious. Overall a very nice beer but heavy.

Bottle. Orange gold in color with a thin off-white head and minimal lacing. Strong floral and pine notes punctuate a sweet malt flavor that finish with lasting intense bitterness

A very strong taste of pines and hops. Some floral notes along with toffee, alcohol punching through, but not too much. IPA full of character, for sure!

Kuparinvärinen, kohtalaisesti luonnonvalkoista vaahtoa tuottava olut jättää myös kevyesti pitsiä. Tuoksussa yllättävän runsaasti toffeeta, pihkaisuutta ja mäntyisyyttä. Maku makean toffeinen, havuinen ja greippinen. Pitkä katkeran greippinen ja havuinen jälkimaku. Melko täyteläinen suutuntuma, alkoholi on hyvin piilossa. Aika yksipuolisen havuinen ja makean toffeinen kokonaisuus tämä tuntuu olevan ja eksoottinen hedelmäisyys loistaa poissaolollaan.

from bottle, poured a deep orange colour with a slight creamy head on top. nose is west coast pine, crisp malts, grapefruit, citrus, pretty basic imperial ipa, not overwelming, just a truckload of bitter pine in the mouth. not my kind of ipa. was expecting more from such a great brewery

Bottle, bottled 29.02.2016 (from beergium). Pours amber wtih whiteish head. Nice lacing. Aroma is sweet, hoppy, caramel, pine. Flavor is sweet and bitter, a lot of pine, some citrus, caramel, malt. Finish is resin-dry bitter with some alcohol warmth. Alcohol is well covered. Overall: would like to try fresher version, but this is still very nice.

Orange color. Hop is dominant in the aroma, with sweetness in the background. Mixing heavy sweet and heavy bitter tastes little by little, but not balanced. Alcohol becomes too clear during the finish.

Clear amber colour, huge creamy and long lasting yellowish-beige-ish head; aroma of pine resin, orange peel oils, celery, grapefruit, minimal biscuit notes and hints of sauerkraut; taste of a typical perfect IIPA: tons of resiny hops, some citruses and tropical fruits (mango?) as well as malty sweetness; lovely beer
