cherr (162), Rochester, New York, USA Feb 27, 2005 Updated: Dec 25, 2005I have to say I think this is the only perfect score I have ever given. This beer is amazing. It’s right there with dreadnaught as the best beer you can buy. The beer has a nice caramel/amber hue. The smell is of grapefruit (dry hopped!) the malt is nice and strong, then the bittering hops take over and finially the finishing hops add a wonderful citrus finish. Overall amazing beer. Maddog (231), Kettering, Ohio, USA Jul 8, 2004 Tried this brew for the first time last night, and I was blown away. I purchased it at Sam’s Warehouse in Chicago because of the 100 rating, and I was not disappointed. The very subtle, sweet malt beginnings are completely flooded with hops. This may be one of my favorites. The dry hoppy finish lingers in the palate for a long time. Just like the bottle says the hops are present from beginning to end. And then some. twin37 (2), Austin, Texas, USA does not count Nov 11, 2005 This is my all time favorite. This is the most flavorful, well-balanced IPA I’ve ever drank. Great nose of peach, tangerine, and pine. Beautiful roundness on the palate. Better than Stone could ever dream of. GreatLibations (1440), Last Supper, Arizona, USA Apr 24, 2006 Pours an almost orange tinted honey color with a full creamy froth with record breaking hangtime. Let me tell you, the froth could be compared to heavy whipping cream. I could have drank a full glass of this froth and been just as happy =). Aroma is of sweet citrus rind. Flavors of crisp pine, citrus, and vanilla bean w/ a mellowing caramel creaminess on the way down. Well ballanced and the alcohol is dangerously imperceptible. This is on my list of all time favorite brews, overall. I highly recommend. lazz (3), Brigdton, Maine, USA does not count Jan 31, 2008 most awesome. DKlovesbeer (172), Sarasota, Florida, USA Oct 1, 2005 Updated: Jun 17, 2007This not quite orange, not quite amber but somewhere in between Double IPA pours with a super huge, creamy off white head. Aroma is a sweet mix of hops, alcohol, malt, orange, grapefruit, pine, flower shop, Christmas tree, and candy store. The flavor is incredible! This beer has a sweet and satisfying mouthfeel that I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Actually, calling this stuff beer is like calling Godiva chocolate candy. It’s just too good. From the very first to the very last sip flavors of sweet floral candy, citrus, sweet malt, toffee, HOPS, pine, alcohol, sugar and caramel coated nuts ensnare the senses and titillate the tastebuds. Hell, this beer made me use the word titillate...what does that tell you? It’s just simply incredible. Honestly, if I only had one beer on earth to drink I’d hope it would be this one. I can’t say enough good things about it. Without a doubt Hercules Double IPA is my favorite beer; at least as of 10/1/05. Overall...I love this beer!!! orville (160), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA Nov 9, 2006 great style, great beer. If your like me and love the IPA style here’s one that packs a killer hop punch, but still has a nice malt foundation that is lacking with some American Brews.
