Lines of small bubbles march slowly to a perfect one-inch off-white lumpy head. Aside from the expected grapefruit and pineapple, the perfumey nose also reveals lime jello, grape, marigold, allspice, and sweat. Ryebread smells lurk behind the curtain of hops. Flavor is nicely spicy and bittersweet, peppery, slightly jammy, and breadcrust malt. Fruity, but far less than I expected. Broad earthy bitter and citric aftertaste. Leather-and-lace mouthfeel of silky malt and electric carbonation buzz. Matches the buzz in my head. Hell, yeah! Syd (911), Waconia, Minnesota, USA

The aroma is grapefruit, pine forest, solid malt, and just very good. The flavor is an explosive hop show riding on a solid malt foundation. You get the grapefruit, pine, and sweetness that the malt provides. The body is fantastic. Overall, one hell of a beer! Thanks Ryan at Cellars for the heads up! possumjc (100), Charleston - Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, USA

Lots of citrus in the aroma. Lots of hops flavor. You can taste the alcohol more than in a normal IPA but the hops are still dominate. One of my new favorite IPAs. kbjames (242), Utah, USA

Tons of body, great color to it, very full in the mouth and goes down very nice. I would highly reccomend this beer to anyone especially hopheads. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

A gingery amber coloured beer with a decent whitish head. This is all about the hops, but there are sweet balancing malts as well. Some toffee notes also. The hops in the nose and piney and far reaching. Lovely alcohol. just a delicious beer. agl108 (513), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 26, 2006 On draft. Pours a hazy, dark orange with thick off-white head. Probably as much lace as I’ve ever seen in a glass. Nose is a blast of pine and citrusy hops. Flavor is loaded with hops and plenty bitter but also nice and malty. A fantastic beer. All hops up front, more balanced in the finish, aftertaste is bitter hops again. Medium body. Fit for this god anyway, but to each his own. If you don’t dig the hops, steer clear of the dumbell.
