COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules’ aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Hoppy aroma, amber in color. stong hop prescence throughout with an underlying malty sweetness and a warm alcohol finish. Overall a very enjoyable beer

335 ml bottle
Copper-orange clear beer with dense off-white head leaving big lacing. Aroma has grapefruit, resin, caramel, tropical fruits and slight alcohol. Flavor is sweet malty and bitter with alcohol. Palate is quite full and soft with heavy bitterness. Finish has quite strong bitterness. Aftertaste has alcohol, resin, pine and grapefruit. Too much alcohol taste to me. Could work as a slow sipper with more interesting malt base, or as an IPA with less alcohol, but this way it’s worst of both worlds.

Bread, nuts, toast, floral, pine, citrus, herbs, alcohol, resin and alcohol. Alcohol comes through too evidently. Would be interesting to taste this with 7-8%.

WHAT THE H@LL! LET ME TELL YOU EVERYBODY NOW THAT A DUBEL IPA CAN NOT HAVE ONLY 85 IBU; THIS ONE HAS NO HOPS SMELL OR FLAVER. THEY’RE SHOULD HAVE CALLED IT A LITE BEER. PROBLY NOT DO THEY’RE OWN HOPS NETHER. SINCE OBAMA STOLE THE ELECTION IN 2006 THESE HOPS AND GET STUFF LIKE HERCULEES AND HOOCH MAKERS LAGUNITAS. BUTT LET ME TELL YOU PLINY GETS IT (DO YOU GET ME NOW!) A CONIESEURE CAN TASTE IF BEERS HAS LESS THAN 200++ IBU WHICH IS WHY ITS THE STRAW BROKE THE CAMELS BACK FOR PLINY. SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT PLINY COSTS TO MUCH MONEY BUT IF YOU DO THE MATH PER IBU ITS PROBLY THE BEST DEAL. IDIOTS.

Bottle from Market Street. Pours a cloudy orange amber with medium white head. The aromas are pine, grapefruit, citrus, The mouthfeel is dry and bitter with a medium body and good carbonation. Cheers!

Tap pour at Upstairs (Mtc) of cloudy orange amber with 1/2 inch white head. Hint of citrus & pine scents. Rough initial taste of grapefruit with hint of tar. Unlike other double IPAs, bitterness does not fade much. Taste is very much "in you face", but not overly complex. Interesting to try, but not my mug of ale.

One of my favorite Imperial IPAs. I forget why exactly. I need to go drink one again real soon. Suffering from beer amnesia. Too many beers, not enough recall!

Pours typical IPA amber with a quite white head and a moderately hopped nose. Flavor is a little restrained on the hops for the gravity but still plenty of character and, perhaps most importantly, a lot of balance. Alcohol is well hidden. Not exceptional among its peers but it does everything right.

Old rating. Murky dark orange. Big malt body. Citrus and fruity hops, surprisingly mild bitterness. Some booziness. Clean all Around.

Poured from the tap at the Biergarten in Charleston, SC into a pint glass. Aroma- A big hop and citrus aroma, very nice Appearance- A mildly murky copper colored beer with a thick small white head Taste- A nice malt and hop mix that hides the high ABV well. Palate- A medium to heavy bodied beer with moderate carbonation. Overall- A great DIPA, highly recommended.

Really nice double IPA, malt forward and not overly bitter. One of my favourite double IPAs. Big fan
