COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Herculesí aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

KajII (799) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - MAY 20, 2012
UPDATED: MAY 30, 2012 Bottle. The pour was a murky medium copper orange with a large (2-3 finger) rocky cream colored head that had decent retention, finally reducing to a thin layer of residue with some excellent sheeting of sticky lacing. The aroma was of a toasted grain malt, pine and floral hops and a mildly sweet yeast with notes of citrus (grapefruit / peel), toffee, caramel and a mild alcohol tinge. The taste was bitter sweet and a tad malty with a hint of toffee early on, with the taste becoming a bit hoppier and having a strong grapefruit presence and a mild citrus peel bitterness towards the end. The flavor lingered for a good while with the taste of citrus and hops settling nicely on the taste buds, meanwhile a mild alcohol warming sensation just added to the enjoyment of this tantalizing brew. Mouthfeel was almost medium in body with a dry oily texture and a good lively carbonation. Overall a DIPA with a well balanced blending of flavors that created a smooth sweet bitter taste, which made this a very enjoyable and drinkable brew.

One of the worst beers Iíve had, may pour it out. Aroma is boozy and malty. Pours golden and had chunks precipitate from the head. Taste isnít horrible but not good either.

Bottle from Alko. Amber color with nice thick bubbling head. Aroma has grape, tropical fruits, grass and malt. Taste is bitter with nice long aftertaste. Some sweetness also in taste. Flavors of malt, citrus, fruits and also some pine in the excellent aftertaste.

Appearance is a hazy reddish amber. Aroma is a blend of malts and hops. Taste is a mix of hops, malts, spices, and alcohol. Too close to an overpowering Belgian for me.

Bottle. Pours a dark golden color with a creamy tan head. Intense hoppy aroma of citrus and pine. Aggressively bitter hoppy flavor along the lines of the aroma. A hophead's dream. Very good.

Round, creamy, exceptional palate with a balanced body. Transparent, camboge color. Hits strongly with an acidic kick. Hints of banana cilantro (eh). Lots of flavors to be discovered: fruits, oak, mildly burnt, leathery. Superb drink that keeps your taste buds entertained.

Nice aroma full of sweet caramel, exotic fruit, and toffee. Similar taste; almost like barley wine. Very well-balanced aftertaste. Plus for the fine crown. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
