COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules’ aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Beautiful amber pour into one and a half inch off-white head, which dissolved slowly and left bountiful lacing around the lip of my tulip. Has a delightful citrus smell, like canned tangerines. The beer is smooth despite its moderate carbonation and has noticeable but not prominent yeast tones and I didn’t notice the alcohol as I have in other big beers. It enters the mouth with a bold, rich maltiness with moderate hops that become more and more prominent through the finish. Its less rowdy than say, a Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA, but a way better balance. Best enjoyed with a Clint Eastwood classic like "Hang ’em High."

A little underwhelmed to be honest. A heavily floral nose which was pleasant. The body is thin and hides the alcohol relatively well, but to taste the excessive hops give a bitter and icing sugar type bite but there is no malt in the body to counterbalance. Finish is long on the bitterness. A basic hop bomb and nothing really to rave about. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very mild for IMP IPA and 10 ABV. Decent smooth maltiness, vanilla aspect, citrus, pineapple, light pine. Bitter all the way with light hint of sweetness. Lovely but not remarkable

Pint glass from tap. Pine and pineapple aroma. Golden, thin white foam, good lacing. Sour pine, citrus pith, super bitter finish. Drinks like a 7%.

Amber color with off-white head. Aroma has really resiny and earthy hops with a solid malt backbone. Taste starts malty and bitter at first but in the middle I get a really weird, stale flavor and it lingers for a while. Medium body and carbonation. I don’t know if I got a bad bottle but the stale/stinky flavor kind of ruins it for me.

12oz bottle. Hazy Amber gold color with an off white head. Resin hops aroma. Resin grapefruit up front with a strong hops finish. Heavy oily body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At Howells and Hood in Chicago. In a snifter. Malty hop up front with a lingering long hop finish. The hop taste changes from concentrated orangey to a mild pine finish. Not for the weak of heart. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Hazy, dark amber beer with a smooth, off-white head and a sharp, aroma of hoppy grapefruit. Taste is grapefruity as well, though there’s a bit of a citrus blend in there. It’s not all bitter and hoppy though. There’s a good, grounded maltiness there too and an airy, floral feel to the backtaste. Really good.

Clear, copper brown colour with some tan frothing on top. Rich, malty aroma, sweetness, brown sugar. Complex taste, with not too overpowering hops. Slightly bitter finish. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, low carbonation. Very good and well-rounded double ipa.
