1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Probably my least favorite well-regarded DIPA in the world. Nose of chemical pine cleaner, hints of sweet maltiness. Taste follows in kind with a strange sharp note of berries, but I cannot really wrap my head around what it is that makes this beer so off-putting to me. It just is. I hadn’t tried it in years and thought maybe I was just imagining my dislike back in ye olden days, but I still just cannot abide this beer at all.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Carmine Street Beer Shop. Must be a long standing one since it pours like a suspension of golden flakes in a copper liquid, spongy light beige head, floral hops aroma, med carbonation, bitter orange peel taste, thin body, long bitter finish. It gets much more bitter towards the end, don’t know whether due to expiry date issues.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft poor at the collective. Amber cloudy color pour, sweet aroma kind of malty, extremely smooth drinking little caramel roast notes.

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours hazy light brown with finger of tan head that hangs around. Aroma is a balance of floral hop and earthy malt belying what’s to come. Flavor packs a punch of bitter citrus rind mid-sip, and finishes with some lingering bitter. While the alcohol is masked in flavor it makes its presence obvious in the brain!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dark honey color with very soft yet attractive aroma filled with hops, hops, and more hops! So very, very smooth for such an unapologetic full flavored brew. Goes down smooth without any strong aftertaste. Absolutely wonderful on the palate. I think I found a beer I’ll always look for on the menu. A RaiderHead finally found something about Denver he likes.

From Beergium. In Teku glass. Watching Los Soprano 2x07. Deliciously sweet, with some between orange and pineapple that feels very refreshing. Dangerously drinkable. ABV very hidden

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Great Divide. Hazy orange-amber with a fine, thick head. Big piny, juicy, resinous nose, caramel, orange. Sweet and a bit syrupy, lots o’ pine. A nice, old-school W-IPA. A bit anachronistic, but still good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a semi-dark hazy brown color with a thin white semi-foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Light messy lacing
The aroma starts off with some glazed orange/citrus peel/rind bitter to sweet hops with some piney bitterness. Caramel malt balances in a sweet malty way.
The flavor takes the sweetness of the hops to the sweetness of the malts to enunciate a low riding overall sweetness. Light tobacco smooths into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a slidingly smooth sipping quality to it. Carbonation runs fairly light.
Overall, old school styled DIPA that alleviates the pain of wanting it to be modernized. So, it’s built to last malty body helps it make it the sipper that it is.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
33cl bottle. The beer is clear with beautiful copper/red color and a medium, creamy head. Aroma of the beer is very sweet with resinous and strong fruity syrup notes. Also some fruity jelly with alcohol. Mouth feel is thick and creamy with delicate carbonation. Which is nice. Flavor is sweet, almost cloying sweet like a barley wine. But there is a lot of hop burn and resinous/fruity character ending with medium bitterness. Like I said the hop burn and medium bitterness makes is a quite balanced and delicious. Overall a very nice beer but heavy.
