COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English-style Old Ale. Hibernation Ale is Colorado’s original strong ale -- it has been Great Divide’s winter seasonal each year since 1995. Hibernation’s massive flavors are so intense that it requires over three months of aging each year. This lengthy aging process gives Hibernation its revered malty richness, complex hop profile and hearty warming character, which is perfect right out of the bottle or cellared for longer periods of time.

From a can, it’s a clear reddish brown, big froth tan head, nice lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, barley and oats? Flavor is moderately sweet, hints of toffee and fruit. Smooth, creamy and drinkable with a mildly bitter finish. This gets added to the shopping list.

Mørk brun, nesten sort med to fingre høyt lys brunt skum. Lukter papp, trevirke, kakaopulver, kaffe og noe melkesjokolade. Smaker toast, sjokolade og kakao også her, samt skarp alkohol. Middels lang alkohol i avslutning.

Pours a dark copper-brown from a bottle. Rich, caramel aroma to match the color, along with a big boozy taste. Good beer.
