COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English-style Old Ale. Hibernation Ale is Colorado’s original strong ale -- it has been Great Divide’s winter seasonal each year since 1995. Hibernation’s massive flavors are so intense that it requires over three months of aging each year. This lengthy aging process gives Hibernation its revered malty richness, complex hop profile and hearty warming character, which is perfect right out of the bottle or cellared for longer periods of time.

Caoba oscuro, espuma beis. Aromas de chocolate, caramelo, toffee, vainilla y tostados. Inicio dulce de caramelo y cacao que pasa a un amargor tostado de intensidad media-alta que equilibra el trago muy bien.

Bottled on Jan 05, 2015. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance has a ruddy brown color with a one finger white foamy head. It dissipated nicely leaving some nice stringy sticky lacing. The smell had a decent chocolate maltiness and a light coffee aroma. The taste was sweet and roasty through the malts. A light rolling roasty chocolate/coffee aftertaste leads into a sticky sweet/roasty finish. On the palate, this sat about a medium on the body. I’d say a good sipper but the alcohol isn’t felt. Overall, I’d say this was a good old ale for the style and for me.

355ml bottle at home. Dark copper - brown color with red notes and yellowish beige head. Roasted malty aroma, coffee in the beginning, caramel, spicy - some cinnamon notes, light chocolate, fruity - sweet berries, hoppy. Sweet and bitter taste like the aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Bottle at home. Pours a dark Amber brown with a quick dissipating tan head. Aroma is toffee, caramel, a bit of cherry, faint spice and chocolate. Smells fantastic. Taste is dark caramel, toffee, toast, a bit of fruitiness (light raisins and cherries), and finishes with a bit of chocolate. Lots going on, lots to enjoy. Medium heavy body, high carbonation and a bit of a dry finish. This is good.
