Color is a deep ruby/brown with a foamy light tan head. Very nutty aroma, there’s some caramel, dark fruit, molasses, earthy, and slightly spicy. Nice dark fruits on the taste, plums and dark cherries, toffee, nutty flavor again, a little alcohol, caramel, and some floral hops. Not bad, the toffee and nutty flavor I felt came on too strong. Kind of a nice warming quality from the alcohol, unfortunately it’s still 90+ outside.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter.
Hibernation pours a deep reddish plumb with a thick creamy beige head that lasts a long while. The aroma is earthy wood, molasses, floral and caramel. The flavor is molasses, caramel and earthy wood initially with a bit of floral hop and bread tucked away in the background.

Great ale! Carmel, malt, hops, and dash of cherry in the nose. Body encapsulates all except the cherry. Smooth, balanced, and mildly carbonated. Would buy again

330ml bottle, dark brown pour with a small head.. Chocolate malt and burnt caramel. Lacking a bit of complexity in the middle with lingering burnt caramel with balance from earthy hop. Finish is light bitter. Body is full, texture, with soft carbonation. Drinks nice and easy for the strength.

Keg at Brewdog Brum. Brown. Sips a smokey choc, but then broadens out into a sticky bark malt breather. Nice sweetness and controlled booze on finish. Deceptively complex. Good stuff. Nice to try a really proficient malt-led beer.

Bottle, 13C. Deep brown with a fat coat of beige head. Rich nutty aroma with chocolate, toasty caramel, some dried fruit, oranges and herbs. Intriguing, fairly boozy. On the full side of medium bodied, lowish carbonation. Sweet and malty with more caramel than chocolate or nuts. Lacks a bit of bottom end rumble. Fairly firm bitterness slides through. Some bitter oranges, licorice and spices at the end. Smells great, lacks a bit of presence and character in the middle.
