COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
LASSO is the new frontier of India Pale Ale. Brewed with a robust roundup of Columbus, Centennial and Cascade hops, its sessionable simplicity proves bigger isnít always better. But make no mistake Ė the Wild West hasnít gone mild. That same untamed IPA spirit thrives, and we reckon thisíll go down mighty fine.

As session IPAís go, itís alright. As Great Divide beers go, itís not much to talk about. It pours a hazy gold color, the head is thin, thereís no real lace. The hops in the aroma are subdued, but better in the flavor. On the front of the tongue there is some strong west coast hop character, but the finish is watery. Whatís worse, there is a sulfuric aftertaste that never goes away.

Barreras (1180) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - JAN 25, 2015
Pours a light copper color with a light floral aroma. Taste is a clean hoppy flavor, mild IPA flavor, tastes intentionally light. Easy drinking with a small bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottle, poured at home. Pours amber with white head. Robust malt aroma, fruity. Hops not particularly forward on the nose. Sharp flavors up front, bitter, resiny hops and strong malt. Bitterness heightens and persists through finish, which lingers and is slightly dry. Modest mouthfeel. Despite the strong malt aroma, the hop bitterness really overpowers the malt in the taste. Not quite as balanced as I would like.

Clear orange pour with a thin white head. Aroma is citrus, primarily orange and grapefruit. Flavor mirrors the aroma, orange, light lemon zest, slightly sweet malt profile. Pretty standard fare for an IPA, but itís a very solid offering.

Nice amber/orange color; Light to medium body; Aroma of floral hops, citrus, & some pine; Flavor of malt/biscuit, pine hops, caramel, and citrus; Finish is slightly bitter; On the light side for sure - but decent.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold body under a one finger fizzy white head that faded to a thin wispy film. The nose is a little too malty for my tastes in the style, lots of caramel and huskiness, and not much in the way of hops. The flavor is almost devoid of hops, Iím not sure where they came up with IPA for this beer. Just a minimal bitterness with a light leafy and green hoppiness. Thereís plenty of husky and grainy malt in here, but thatís not my idea of an IPA. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Probably the worst beer Iíve ever had from Great Divide, quite the disappointment.

Solid and plain all at the same time. Has an appropriate malt backbone, has a very nice hop taste...but, just kinda plain. Would drink again, but itís not a headliner, itís the type you buy a case of and drink sessionably.
