Commercial Description:
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Brown-black pour with a very sticky tan head, amazing lacing. Aroma is mostly caramel, anything roasted here hides behind the barrel. Flavor similarly caramelized, balance between the sweet toffee flavors and complexity in the background, tannins, creme brulee, heavy roast, licorice. Honestly there’s a bit too much going on in terms of balance to the sweet flavors, a bit more of a mishmash than a really complex beer. Full bodied, warm, great sipping beer with a lot of bourbon character.

pitch black pour, quickly vanishing tan head...roasty bitterness, mellowed with the oak aging...i prefer original

This is one of the best beers i’ve ever tasted. 22 oz bottle. This one pours dark as night with a rich thick brown head. The nose is chocolate, hints of vanilla and licorice, leather, and smoke. The taste is much the same with roasted coffee as well. The palate is thick and oily. This is a wonderful brew.

Yes, it’s black. Just like it should be. Three finger head of thick, coffee colored foam. Retention is great and lacing is clumpy and sticky. Big roasted malt presence. Notes of leather and smoke. Nice coffee hints. Brown sugar, molasses and a touch of licorice. Taste totally follows the nose, on this one. All that I can add is that the alcohol is extremely well-hidden and that this is one rich, decadent freakin’ beer. Very nice full bodied brew, here. Thick and creamy, with a touch of oiliness. The mild carbonation level helps this one remain smooth and enjoyable. This was made for sipping on, maybe a bottle or three, over the course of a night. Totally drinkable. Tasty as hell.

This is another imperial stout that I really like, with roasted coffee and chocolate type flavors like you would expect from a beer of this style. This beer has the added effect of a potent woody character from the oak. Interesting and delicious.

Wow. Just wow. This stout was incredible. It poured an opaque black with a medium brown head. The aroma was mostly roasted malts, chocolate, and a little tobacco-y. It was an incredible brew and was very filling. Just awesome.

10/30/09 bottling date. Pours a dark black with a small tan head. The aroma was chocolate, roastiness, & tobacco(my first time smelling tobacco in beer). The taste was bitter espresso, wood-wow that’s a lot of wood taste, roasty with the wood making the ending very dry. This is the woodiest beer I’ve had & as you get through the bomber the wood taste does start to be too much. Maybe it needs a little more time in the bottle for the wood taste to settle down & mix in with the rest of the flavors.
