| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 2, 2008 Pour is thick engine oil black with a small dark tan head. Aroma is of sweet malt, caramel, oak, light coffee, chocolate, and a light burnt character. Can you say complex? Brew is very full bodied with a strong oak and toast character finishing with more sweet malt, toffee and strong hops right at the end. Very smooth mouthfeel and a dang good brew. With further review, I get a hint of coffee in the flavor as well. I wouldn’t mind having this brew around for a few more years to see what happens. I’ll be looking for this brew again! | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 31, 2008 Drinking this is like eating those incredible delicacies at the state fair. Something like bacon, dipped in chocolate, battered an deep fried. So many incredible flavors, each one decadently good in its own right, all put together. Fantastically good, but only in moderation. But there is actually a kind of internal moderation. Each great but overpowering flavor seems to cancel the others out so that no one overpowers the other, or you. ansermadide (507), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 31, 2008 (Sample from December 14, 2007 Beer Club Meeting; Bomber with ice cream with weeAnaP on August 24, 2008) HUGE brown head… STILL huge! Fantastic lacing. Bubbly, looks like a wheat pancake on the stove. Oaked malt aroma with molasses. Flavor is VERY well done. Lacing follows all the way down the glass as you drink. Very warm on the tongue. Spicy finish from the alcohol. Creamy, smooth, full-flavored, round on the palate. Delicious with ice cream! PaulHegedus (464), Georgetown, Ontario, Canada

This thing is a beautiful almost-black colour; the lacy head holds a nice complex raisin aroma, coffee, rich chocolate, licorice. Mouthfeel is full and very pleasant. There’s roasted coffee, chocolate, vanilla in the flavour, some dark fruit, slight sweet sugar in the finish. I wish this got better distribution around here. changeup45 (788), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 24, 2008 I’ve been hanging onto this one for about 5 months. This is good stuff, quite a bit better than the regular version. Pours thick and dark with a thin dark brown head with some retention. The aroma really is a nice scent that seemed to get even better the more it breathed with some molasses, oak, cherries, coffee and malt. I love the complexity to this. It’s very tasty with a lot going on but more mellow than expected with high drinkability. So the flavors are rather soft with bitter coffee, lots of oak and chocolate, and a dash of molasses. This is both roasty and creamy. Silky smooth. Really good, one of the best Impy Stouts I’ve had, and a class above the standard Yeti. kegbear (265), Orange, California, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 24, 2008 Tastes like a chocolate vanilla cream donut dipped in bourbon. Vanilla and oak really come through. Some hop bitterness makes this not too sweet and well balanced. A good beer to sip on a cool fall night. BrotherGrendel (580), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 23, 2008 Purchased at Tops Liquors in Tempe last winter, consumed in Scottsdale last week.
Appearance is a dense brown hue, thick tan creamy head sustains, foamy swaths of lacing trickle down the sides.
Smell is moderate roast malts, dark fruits, light chocolate and coffee, anise, brown sugar/molasses, vanilla, wood, cherries, and moderate alcohol.
Taste is initially dominated by roast malts/ dark fruits/ vanilla/ alcohol, midway enters chocolate and coffee malts, heavy oak wood tones dominate at times, finishes with dry sweetness and light booze.
Mouthfeel is full-bodied, creamy smooth texture, lively carbonation.
Drinkability is moderate, decent example of the IRS style but the malts are lacking in body and boldness, dark fruits and wood flavors are somewhat overwhelming, good overall taste profile, I would like to see how this compares to the non-oak version of Yeti.
