Commercial Description:
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Pours black with a large brown head. Head never seems to dissipate. Strong aroma of roasted malts, wood, and for some reason tobacco. Very well balanced for all the different flavors that come out as you drink more of it. Closer to the finish, the taste is of strong alcohol and chocolate. This is definately a huge beer, and it needs to be enjoyed as such. Perfect winter beer.

22 oz bottle. Pours black with very little brownish head. Coffee, some chocolate, oak and smoke tastes. The key to this beer is how its so easy to drink. Would buy more often but expensive ($8.00 a 22). Great beer.

Bottle, 22 fl. oz. Pours a black beer, with a brown head. The aroma is roasted with some licorice, tar, wood and notes of coffee. The flavor is complex and balanced, with notes of sweetness, roasted malts and wooden barrels. The mouthfeel is nice and finishes bitter with a lasting sharpness. A very nice imperial stout, one of my favorites.

An overall amazing beer. Definite oak aroma with a brwonish head. Black as can be. Warms you up when you drink it. Great for sipping.

Draft at Great Divide Tap Room, Denver, CO on 8/12/08. Pours black with dark khaki head, nose is roasted malt and chocolate, coupled with a slight fruitness that’s subtle in nature. Taste is roast and mild chocolate, dry and very bitter. No astringency. Slight oak and vanilla, good alcohol burn with very little alcohol flavor. Straight deliciousness.

Pours black with dark brown head. Woody sweetness flavor with a good amount of IBU (higher than most stouts I’ve had).

Pours a very dark brown/black with a creamy mocha colored head that lasts a while and then leaves a nice bit of lacing on the glass. Smells predominantly of Vanilla/Oakiness and chocolate with some roasted malts and coffee sneaking through. The taste didn’t quite live up to the smell in regards to complexity but it had a nice lingering hoppy finish that was quite unexpected. A nice mouthfeel but I like my RIS’s a little thicker and a little less carbonation. Overall, a great easily available RIS that I indulge in often.

WOW...scintilating. The only Imperial stout that comes close is the stone. This is rich, creamy, moreish and just improves sip by sip...enjoy!
