Commercial Description:
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Excellent stout I’ve been meaning to try for quite some time. Served in the bottle (22oz.) at my local tap house. Poured dark as night with very little head. Flavors were rich, sweet, and bitter with roasted vanilla and toffee or hazelnut noticeable.

This beer was brought to me from outside Arkansas. We, unfortunately can’t buy it here. This beer pours a beautiful syrupy black, totally opaque, thick and rich. It has a frothy dark beige top, and leaves a great pattern on the glass, especially when the initial pour settles. There is the flavor of toasted oak and creamy Kailua coffee liqueur up front. Immediately behind that is a sweet dark chocolate. After you drink, the vanilla flavor invades the sinus. I don’t know if I tasted it or smelled it on the exhale, but it was wonderful. The hops are invisible, as is the taste of alcohol, until well into the aftertaste, but the hops are quite present there. I tasted the hops long after the drink. This is a world class beer, one of the best ever. It is sweet, complex and wonderful.

Pour: Deep dark brown with a thick and creamy dark tan head. Nose. Toasted, caramelized, chocolate malt, floral, pine, coffee, vanilla, and oak. Taste: A deep immense chocolate and coffee flavor followed up by a complex malt characters. There are subtle hop undertones with hints of vanilla, oak and spice. Body: Thick, chewy, and creamy. Finish: Slightly bitter and acidic with a lasting impression on the palate. Overall: A great beer that should achieve some recognition. My hat goes off to Great Divide.

Thanks so much to Hogtownharry. The first beer after my 5 week break. Aged 2 years. Wonderful hop-honey aroma, burnt chocolate and coffee. Jet black with small but present frothy tan head. WOW, a spicey chocolate mouthful, sharp on the tip of the tongue and warm and chocolatey on its way down, nutmeg, coffee and toffee in there too. The alcohol is hidden exceptionally well. What a truely great imperial stout. Perfect for a celebration on a cold day like today. Thanks Harry.

bottle from 7th street. Pours black with thin tan head. Smells like sweet coffee, oak and chocolate. Taste is very smooth. Notes of oak sit well in this beer.

Bottle. Pours out thick and black, kind of like used motor oil. Small head. Aroma of chocolate alcohol. Smooth palate that reminds me of chocolate bourbon filling with hints of coffee. Hops on the finish. Complex Beer. Grade A.

Draught at the GD tap room. Phenomenal impy stout. Pours inky black with a solid tan head. Aroma is solid hops in the front but follows with some subtle coffee and dark chocolate. The flavour also has a strong hops profile but also hints of bourbon, oak and vanilla. Just outstanding.

Draught. Black, viscous and thick, thick dark tan/brown head. Nose is oaky and roasty, bit of a coffee presence and a smooth, vanilla oak note. Big but smooth, roasty chocolate up front, some coffee, all with a smooth, vanilla oak character residing over the top. The richness snaps up into a dry, hoppy finish that hints of smoke. Finish is long, moderately bitter. Extremely well balanced. Great beer. Mouthfeel is viscous, full bodied, a bit slick. Pulls off the big hops note better than most - oak and vanilla smooth out the rough edges so that the blending of roasty and hoppy is by no means harsh. Well done.
