tnkw01 (124), USA Feb 29, 2008 OMG, another good beer that has left our area. Well it was good will it lasted. This is one of the few hoppy beers that I really love. Not that it had a strong hop flavor but it was very noticeably . Snojerk321 (1914), San Diego, California, USA Feb 28, 2008 Damn good stuff, 22oz bottle acquired in trade with mmm///beer . Pours black with a milk chocolate head. Aromas of wood chips, oak, chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. An amazing brew overall....one of my favs! fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Feb 26, 2008 Bottle. Nose of alcohol, chocolate and lots of rich (in a $75 chocolate cake sense of the word) roasted malt. Flavor brings on some background subtleties of wood and dark fruits, but that rich malt presence remains overwhelming. Hops come around more and more, the whole time doing all they can to balance out such complex richness. Mouthfeel quite very much full and thick, very enjoyable. I did think this one was a bit boozy, especially for under 10%, but still a brew I could drink any day of the year. Luscious. LilBeerDoctor (1479), East Setauket, New York, USA Feb 23, 2008 Bottle. Beautiful beer: pours a dark black with a nice thick dark tan, almost red head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, smoke, alcohol, oak. Tastes of chocolate (especially as the beer warmed), roast, coffee, dark fruits. This is a thick, rich, heavy beer! The alcohol is definitely present in the aroma and taste and warms your mouth as you drink this. An excellent beer but definitely a slow sipper. Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Feb 23, 2008 Pours a pitch black with a large frothy mocha head that quickly dissipates and leaves spots of sticky lacing. Aroma is oak, chocolate, alcohol, vanilla, and dark fruit. Taste is roasted coffee, dark chocolate, some vanilla, and then finishes rather bitter with some alcohol burn in the stomach but is very drinkable for the style. uhre (339), Denmark Feb 17, 2008 This beer is amazing - it’s the best Imperial Stout I have tastet so far. The aroma has bread, oak, alcohol and vanilla. It pours a brown head which is very good lasting. The flavor has oak, vanilla, bread. It’s dominated by oak, but everything is in balance! WolfsBlood84 (103), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Feb 17, 2008 22 oz. Bomber - Pours a black oil with small tan head. Aroma is chocolate, malt, toffee, caramel, and hops. Taste is the same - great. Pretty hoppy aftertaste, 75 IBUS mouthfeel is oily and medium to thick bodied. Very nice, probably would be great with aging, and will drink again. jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Feb 16, 2008 Pitch black coloured body with a nice tan head that lasts for quite a while. About 95% opaque, only transparency is at the bottom when held up to the light. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate and the strongest scent - fresh hops!!! Full-bodied; Strong malty taste with chocolate, coffee, nuts and roasted malt real strong in the taste. Aftertaste shows some of the hops along with a bunch of the sweetness and not much else. Overall, a good imperial stout - definitely worth trying! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased a year or so ago from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 19-November-2005 sampled on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
