Expected notes of coffee and chocolate, oak and vanilla on both the nose and the palate. Combination of hops and toasted oak made for a more bitter finish than expected, but in a good way. Delicious, but for occasional sipping. Headbanger (1583), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Aroma of bourbon, coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, oak and slight alcohol. Taste of this full bodied brew comes across with initially a little hops then coffee followed by bourbon and a little vanilla. The finish has all of everything mixed in rather well along with the oak. Great tasting Impy stout. dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA

Rich, sweet aroma of roasted malt, with dates, figs, and brandy. Woodsy and sweet flavor of malt, dark fruits, and a bit of chocolate. The oak comes through wonderfully. Really nice sweetly bitter lingering taste. Fantastic imperial stout. MaltOMeal (652), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

The smell was oak, chocolate and some alcohol. Taste was oak, roasted malt and chocolate. Very complex taste and texture. Mouthfeel was thick and creamy with some chalkiness at the finish. This was a very good Impy stout. I loved this soooo much. Can’t wait to have another. TheRealBastard (141), The-No, California, USA

pours a crude oil black with a large mocha head, excellent lacing.
smell of dark cocoa, mocha, coffee, roasted nuts, slight vanilla, and licorice.
taste is thick and creamy, semi-sweet chocolate, some vanilla, oak comes out in the back, roasted coffee beans, as it warms up more of a mocha taste, and sour malt, some bitterness in the end and dry. DragonsHead (137), Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, USA

Head retention is long with lacing from start to finish. Has a bold mouthfeel with tastes of strong coffee and strong roasted malts. Not much hop flavor and finishes with a nice vanilla flavor that makes me want more. This beer has very complex flavors and is very tasty.
