daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada Jan 3, 2008 I won’t repeat everything from my rating of the regular Yeti, but I will note the differences. First, let me say that I didn’t especially like what the Oak aging did for this stout. I liked it, but side-by-side with the regular Yeti, I would choose the regular Yeti 100% of the time. The nose of the Oak aged version added some difference with hints of brandy, dark fruit, chocolate and licorice. The body is a little more timid in the middle with hints of wood and less hoppy. Good, but Yeti on its own is great. KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jan 2, 2008 Pours black with tiny head. Aroma has oak, liquerice, coffee, chocolate and comes out quite vinous. Same goes for the sweet flavor with strong bourbon notes. Lovely. Mogwai (217), Askeby, Denmark Jan 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours a black/very dark brown colour with hints of red. Aroma of red, dark berries, chocolate, earth, wood. Flavour of coffee, chocolate and vanilla on the tip of your tongue. Feels good in your mouth, nose and of course in your stomach!! flemdawg (485), Naples, Florida, USA Dec 31, 2007 Dense black body with a very small head of dark brown bubbles. Aroma of chocolate, molasses, dark fruits, some brown sugar and a little bit of the oak. The flavor was amazing, with molasses, chocolate, oak, and some subtle fruits right before a massive citrus rind bitterness. Very clingy in the mouth with lingering bitterness. Quite tasty, and my Happy New Year beer. General66 (164), Streator, Illinois, USA Dec 31, 2007 22 ounce bottle. This was the beer that got me interested in trying a variety of beers! Pours a very dark black with a thin frothy brown head. Smells of chocolate, coffee and a hint of vanilla. Taste is a wonderful mix of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. Some of the complex flavors come out when it warms up. Very enjoyable until the last drop! An exceptional beer! tertons (74), East Providence, Rhode Island, USA Dec 31, 2007 Updated: Apr 11, 2009Subtle oak and added age to the already great Yeti. I love this one as one of the best examples of RIS. All about flavor and drinkability at a 9.5 level. Cryotek (206), Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA Dec 31, 2007 Updated: Jan 2, 2008#100 yay! Inital aroma from bottle was hoppy, then while pooring into glass notes of coco, expresso, and roasted malt. Beutiful pitch black with a very thin but nice looking dark caramel head. Tastes - rosted chocolate, something else sweet, maybe vanilla, also oaky, malty hop, bitter hop, and something else like a bourbon or rum. Goes down very easy, i don’t notice the 9.5 at all. Very nice!, nicely complex yet each flavor is bold enough to identify it. Very enjoyable, a great beer for a large tasting!---A few hours late i finished the rest of my forgotten bottle, and unbelievably still tasty and good. Actually got me a bit buzzed albiet on an empty stomach. lampeno420 (321), Zeeland, Michigan, USA Dec 31, 2007 Updated: Jan 26, 2008Super black pour. Had this next to 07 dark lord and this felt a little thinner body-wise. Great oaked chocolate with just a little coffee.
