I wasnít very impressed. I wasnt getting a big aroma, or much oak in the taste. I suppose the best part was the pour, pitch black, with a beautiful tan head. The foam dissipated relatively quickly. I just thought there was too much coffee roast. It overpowered any malty sweetness that I look for in stouts. I usually dig wood aged beers because they help smooth out over-cooked beers, but I didnít get any of that in this bottle. for shame.

Gorgeous black pour with dark tan head. Light aroma for such a bold flavored beer. Everything one could want in a stout and then some. Bold coffee and oak mingle together on the tounge with an arid finnish that takes hold and doesnít let go, until you take another sip. Definitely a winner.

Let the hopping begin. A stout with a bunch of bitters? Donít mind if I do, thank you very much. This is, without question, my favorite offering from Great Divide.

Smooth taste even with the bitterness. Vanilla, bitter baking chocolate, chocolate, roasted malts.
Long feel and finish. Very dry oak finish.
One of the best beers on the market.

Deep dark and intoxicating aromas of coffee and leather. A really dark pour. There is an explosion on the palate as this big stout odes over the tastebuds. Starts out with coffee and burnt malt followed by tobacco and earth. I have not had a better unoaked stout to date

Delicious stuff; one of my favorite non-barrel aged imperial stouts; right there with Speedway, and maybe even a notch over it. Huge roasted malts, and bitterness, with a delicious creamy mouthfeel that doesnít get too crazy. Oak comes forth well, and the roasted malts shine through without any rustiness or cloyingness. Surprisingly drinkable and overall delicious.

Bottle from Lazy Dog. Pours motor pull black with toffee colored head. Aroma of intense coffee and a bit of chocolate. Taste of the aforementioned aroma with a bit of a boozy undertone.

Vintage cellared since September 2012. Poured into a tulip glass, pours thick, syrupy and black. Aroma of wood, coffee and malt. Taste is nice, mellow. Oak comes through with cocoa, spicy malt and finishes with some sweetness. Great, thick mouthfeel. Great beer.
