COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

I must have gotten a bad bottle? To me it is like drinking liquid dust. Extremely dry. To a point where I have drink some water just to get rid of the dry, dusty pallet. Almost like drinking caulk. I prefer sweeter, smoother stouts. I will try the rest of the bottle tomorrow. Still think the bottle is bad because drinking this is not enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Where: Old Line Fine Wine Spirits & Bistro. How: 22 ounce bottle. Appearance: almost jet black, 2" of dark leather colored foam. Aroma: Oak hits you, then smoke, chocolate hops. Taste: lots of flavor, dark roasted coffee and malt. And Oak of course! Palate: Full bodied, sweet but slightly bitter finish, booze and molasses. Overall: Tasty stuff from Great Divide, top notch.

Bottle from K&L in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is dark chocolate, mild coffee, oakiness (combined with the sweet maltiness) is reminiscent of bourbon (without the bourbon, which is impressive). Taste is commmmmmplex. Dark fruits, sweet malts, roasted malts, coffee, some vanilla, wood, bourbon...so smooth and rich! Bitter finish. This beer is World Class without a doubt.

Aroma: Dark roasted coffee beans, marzipan, toast, Madeira.
Appearance: A very very dark brown beer, black if you prefer, a tan big head that settles slowly, leaving good lacing.
Taste: Sweet brown sugar, oatmeal porridge, roasted bread crust, coffee and dark chocolate. Sweet port or Madeira. Coffee beans at the end.
Palate: Low carbonation, a huge body, oily and smooth, a finishing dryness.
Overall: This is really a great beer, full of flavor and delight.

Review from memory - had this at a weekend tasting a few months ago. Excellent looking beer, pitch black and with a tall espresso head. Roasted malts smell, along with dark chocolate, smoke and sour barrel. Taste dominated but not overwhelmed by roasted malts, bitter chocolate and some coffee, with feint vanilla notes. An excellent barrel-aged stout.

Bottle from a trade. Many thanks! Oily black, brown foam. Sweet nose of chocolate, mocha, roasted coffee and vanilla. Sweet with harsh bitterness. Good, but not my favourite stout.

Mm, som att dricka chokladpulver som första intryck. Bra stuns och bränd i eftersmaken. En riktigt nice julöl!

Thanks Matt for this one!
