Ungstrup (10417), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 29, 2005 [Sampled tap at the brewery, thanks to Brian Dunn] A pitch black beer with a nice orange-brown head. The aroma is grassy combined roasted notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with loads of chocolate and loads of fresh hops, leading to a dry woody and hoppy finish. A fantastic beer, that came thru even though my expectations were high. Someday I want to try it side by side with the normal Yeti. omhper (9704), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 5, 2005 Bottled, thanks JCW!
Very black with beige head. Woody licorice aroma. Sweet and extremely rich with loads of chocolate, licorice and menthe. Despite the intensity of the flavours sweetness takes the upper hand in the finish. Papsoe (9242), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 3, 2006 (Bottle 65 cl) Pours black and opaque with a creamy, light brown head leaving a neat lacework. Very sophisticated, vinous and raisiny aroma. Rich and full body with a rather refined and complex malt structure. Port-like with notes of raisins and rum. Lightly hoppy malt finish where some oak appears. 030606 Oakes (6529), Miami Beach, Canada Jun 11, 2005 Very dark brown. Chocolatey aroma with light coffee and bourbon. Sweet flavour - vanilla, bourbon, white chocolate, and more light roasty notes. Fair amount of hop bitterness remains in the finish to dry things out a bit, though alcohol also contributes. sk8viking (5995), Copenhagen, Denmark May 25, 2005 Bottle thanx joergen. Black colour with a baige head. Roasted coffee hoppy woody aroma and a light sweet light roasted dry taste. Medium to full body and a dry roasted finish.
